yes, that's what it means for the moment.
if it's true that 2.1b could extract it, you'll get files for loadiine only, the content extraction without decrypting (c argument) wasn't possible on that version.
I didn't try to extract that wud with v2.1, but if loadiine files are fine for you then you can try it.

Keep your wud, maybe there will be a fix to extract that game's content files.

if you really want to play that game and you don't care about the format, I recommend using JNUStool and loadiine.

Crediar updated DiscU to extract title.tik correctly (it's NOT fixing the ticket, it's now extracting it without bug).
I'm just curious where this info came from?
Also whats the point in storing "unmodified" tickets if they were just incorrectly extracted in the first place? and are the 'brazillian' modified tickets bit-for-bit identical with correctly extracted WUD tickets?

it comes from Crediar.
he said the issue with the ticket was due to the used IV to decrypt the first block of data.
he released a new DiscU to fix that.

yes, "brazilian" (fixed tickets from a bad WUD extraction) are identical to the tickets installed onto the console by playing the retail disc.
fix94 was the first one to notice it. he extracted a disc ticket from his NAND (he worked on redNAND and was one of the first users to extract files) and noticed what we were (supposedly) doing to fix the tickets was in fact not really a "change it to make the console think it's an eshop game" but how a good disc ticket should be.

Also whats the point in storing "unmodified" tickets if they were just incorrectly extracted in the first place?
I don't understand this question.
storing the ticket? who is storing them?

If you talk about the website sharing ISO or keys, I think they are sharing already modified (and in fact fixed) tickets.
nobody is storing wrong ones.

WUD files have the proper disc tickets in it.
NAND has the proper disc tickets in it.
eShop don't comes with a ticket unless you by the title.

this what?
this thread is for getting the needed game files for WUP installer by using a .WUD image file instead of using NUS. so, I guess that answer your question.

this thread is not a "new installation method". it's an extraction function to get the files needed by WUP installer.
the thread's title is probably confusing. it can make you think you actually install games using WUD. You are still using WUP to install the game, the wud is only used to extract the game from it. Instead of extracting ONLY the ticket, you extract everything.
so does this mean I can install New Super Luigi U from a .wud, as I know you can't download it.

yes, that's what it means.

to be clear, as you are still asking the same question, in three different ways :

you only need WUD to install games to your console.

you don't need NUS to install games to your console.

games NOT on eShop can be installed if you have the wud.

Just my two cents : if you can get hold of a wud (or wux) it is far more future 'proof' then all other forms.
Out of a wud you can create a loadiine (decrypted) version and a wup-installer.

and who knows what the future will bring us : a usb-loader which accepts a wud/wux files+key as input? Then you wish you have kept your wud-files and/or didn't waste your time getting them from NUS or some 'shady' torrent/filesharer.

A lot has happened in a fairly short time :-) happy days.

Wii Sports Club didn't work with this method. Sad.

I also wanted this game, apparently the problem with this is that to unlock the content be required load the game from the disc channel and not as digital game, have the disc (WUD) to install or download from the eshop is the same thing, hopefully soon someone give a solution.

Hello, first make sure you use these commands:
DiscU.exe game.key game.wud c
I used others in principle and the DiscU did not work as was supposed.
Be sure to write the title key with a hexadecimal editor in that mode, it does not work write it in a txt file and change the extension.

does this mean I can use the already jb, "ripped" games from loadiine? many of them came from wud images, some didn't. can't recall which ones exactly, but they're all ripped.
