can someone please help me or make a tutorial for the "repack games" thing from setting up the CAFE_ROOT set in your environment variables that's the part I'm stuck at I have the sdk and everything
Setting up CAFE_ROOT:

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

1 - From the explorer, enter into the "cafe_sdk" folder form your SDK installation and copy the folder location.
2 - Now open up the environment variables window. If you don't know how to do this, search for "environment variables" in the start menu and open the "edit the system environment variables" program, then click "Environment Variables..."
3 - Click "Edit" for your own user-defined environment variables and paste the "cafe_sdk" folder location into the 'variable value' field. Obviously, don't forget to also enter "CAFE_SDK" (without quotes) into the 'variable name' field.

It should end up looking like this:
upload_2016-11-3_17-39-49.png

I should've really added this in, so apologies for that. Adding to the OP now.

I'm not trying to use rednand but I'd like to understand the "repack games" thing. Does it mean that I can repack an out of region game and install it with wupmod and launch the game directly from home menu? Or not because of this

"Attention: These edited out-of-region titles will NOT boot from SysNAND since the ticket was regenerated during repacking. I believe the original 'legit' ticket won't fix that problem either. If you try to launch these in SysNAND, you'll just encounter errir 199-9999 and may have to restart your Wii U."

Sorry I'm a newbie at this.
You edit the region value in meta.xml before you repack; you can't just simply unpack, then repack the game and it'll magically work. I believe Error 199-9999 signifies that the game's ticket/signature is bad. RedNAND bypasses this, of course, but SysNAND has to have the same patches otherwise, as the "Attention:" part says, it doesn't work.

Hey man... tried as you did... formatted my SD card with Fat32GUI and the retry counter keeps flicking between 1 and 2.... i'm worried something is going wrong... tried to format my sd card also with easeUS and the same occurs... but, when i formatted with easeUS, it only flicks on slcmpt (second backup).... i didn't wait till the 3rd... did someone experience the same? and how did you solve it? don't want to wait 1 hour or so to, in the end, everything went bad

;// HELP hahaha
I just left it to run. It took at least 14 hours lol. I left it running and came back after work and the Wii u was off, booted rednand and everything seems fine.

Holy Moly... 14 hours? Maybe we were "lucky" on taking fake sd cards ;S I saw a video on youtube that the guy said the proccess takes only around 1 hour to finish ;sss

It's normal for the retry counter to flicker like that. This nand dumper is way more stable than the old one. Let it run its course and don't pay attention to the counters. Trust me, it'll be a good dump.

Okk, thanks man.... How long did your proccess take to finish? I'm an hour past and it's still on slccmpt (second 512mb file).... I think I bought a fake SD card :s

I bought this sd card https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-micr...TF8&qid=1478203473&sr=8-2&keywords=sd+card+64

The process took me about 1h30m. Some people reported times of 8 hours+

One guy reformatted his sd and tried again - and this time it took 1h30m like normal.

lol Try never to brick your redNAND or you'll have to format it again, then it will really suck haha. Mine seems to be going faster now... 1:30hr past and it is now copying the "mlc"... it seems like it's going to take less than another 1:30hrs as I see the proccess running on the gamepad... 20mins past since the copy of the "mlc" began and it's already like that: +/- 00677000 / 03A3E000 (considering 8 digits both sides).... fingers crossed...

-EDIT: by the way... try not to consider my english errors... i'm not a native english speaker haha :))

Hi, I have many questions : to unlink NANDs, I should format sysNAND, but how to do this ? By the Systool app or by reseting the wii u ?

Then, I can't launch the Homebrew channel in redNAND whereas I can in SysNand, do you know why ? I get a White screen ... thanks :)

Hi, another question : to unlink NANDs, I should format sysNAND, but how to do this ? By the Systool app or by reseting the wii u ? thanks

I may be wrong, but the nands are unlinked and you don't need to format your console as you needed to on WII... all tutorials i've read and watched, i noticed that everything you install on redNAND, keeps only on redNAND... some people even create folders on the first app blocks screen and name them sysNADN (on the sysNAND) and redNAND (after the redNAND is launched) so you can difere them and don't do anything you weren't supposed to

EDIT: it's better to wait for more answers to be sure... i'm still dumping mine to the sd card so I can't assure you that

Yes, you format your sysnand by resetting the wiiu (not with sysconfig tool).

You don't have to format sysnand to unlink your nands. There is no proof that this is any better than having linked nands. Be advised you will have to reformat your hdds if you format your sysnand.

The homebrew launcher should boot in rednand. Are there any other peculiarities you notice while in rednand?

Okay so It's easier, I don't have to deal with saviine so :)

For the second part, in RedNAND, when I open the browser and wait to the home page to load (the basic one with favs) and then push home button, I also get the white screen :/

I haven't heard of anyone else experiencing that issue. I would first try recompiling fw.img, and next redumping your nand.

However, I don't now if it can mess with it, but when I tried to install the sysTool, I tried without modifying the meta datas of wupInstaller and so get the error that systool is not a game ... I try to restore my RedNAND backup so.

Edit : So I restored my backup of RedNAND after reformatting my SDcard and installed SystemConfigTool with the good wup installer. I assume that trying to install system config tool without the good WupInstaller kinda mess it up ... Thanks :)

I've understand that I have to edit the file before repacking it x'D I thought that after changing region to the game I could actually install it wupmod and launch it from the home menu like the nus games with the edited .tik of the "brazilian method".

Launching from the Home Menu is exactly what you do. Sorry; I may have not made myself clear. :P
What I meant was that you will only be able to launch the games in emuNAND, but not sysNAND.

So I started the dumping process yesterday afternoon, but it was going painfully slow so I let it run while I went to sleep. When I woke up the Wii U was turned off, so I assume the dumping finished.
But now my sd card looks like this:
47hBIEo.png

A bunch of unallocated space and a partition "NO NAME" and no NAND backup to be seen anywhere (there are no files on the fat32 partition).
What did I do wrong? I really don't wanna do this all over again and waste another 10 hrs or so.

I actually got a fake sd card guys... after 16gb of space occupied, the sd card itself begins to corrupt the files.... after my process was finished, my second partition that was supposed to be fat32 formatted wasn't formatted at all and when I try to format, nothing happens.... contacted the guy who sold me the sd card and he will refund me tomorrow... today, i'm going myself to the store and buy a new one... the thing is... here in brazil, one of this cards on the store costs exact US$50,92 haha but that's how life is...
