There is no MIOS on the Wii-U to reinstall.
The Wii U doesn't have MIOS installed so don't go installing it there and Nintendont doesn't rely on MIOS at all. Nintendont runs GameCube Games in Wii mode not GameCube mode. So DIOS MIOS cannot be the issue.
Well, even if that's the case, it's most likely caused by SOME sort of error in installation. That's why I wanted to try restoring my nand backup. Is there any way to do that on Wii U?

There is no way to do that on the Wii U as far as I know. Nintendont only uses IOS58. With the Wii U if you didn't go installing IOSs all willy nilly it's definitely not the issue.

Hey guys, I'm having trouble getting nintendont to find my GC games. I've formatted my USB drive to FAT32 32k, I have used the correct directories and also named my game to game.iso. Help please? :)

Also make sure it is not labeled game.iso.iso if using Windows as extensions are hidden by default.

Here's the root, it is also the primary partition. :)

It is very likely that the iso is named game.iso.iso as Windows hides extension by default. Right-Click the ISO and go to properties and check the actual name.

In the file's Details Tab it will show the actual file name.

So... quick question for ya'll. Has anyone managed to get External USB DVD Drives to work? Preferably, ones that read Wii U and GCN optical media (I know some Panasonic drives can do that)? It's just a random curiosity I've been having and some I've been kinda' looking into.

afaik no drive can straight up read gc disc, they can dump them but not read it to play directly like the wii or gc itself and obviously this isnt coded on nintendont so it wont work.

I don't think they can either. The only drives I knew of that could even read them were a couple of LG models and they've been discontinued for years. (link)

so after a bit of testing with PAL this seems to be its default so I decided to always behave that way.
-always set PAL50 flag as it seems to be the default PAL BIOS behavior, should fix PAL Ikaruga with no PAL BIOS present
this of course only affects PAL games, NTSC games had its default flag also set like that, dont know why I did not do it the same for PAL but now it is ;)

Glad to be of a bit of help. Another bug that i've found: Virtua Striker 4 Ver. 2006 (Japan) is not working without the bios present, it turns off the Wii after the calibration test.

just looked at it and this game manages to actually hit the ONE case I was hoping for to never happen, now I have to think of actually patching out DI encryption or doing some other messy stuff like introducing DI states I guess.

The tools that can "read" Wii and GameCube discs using certain LG drives do so by using an undocumented debug feature that dumps the raw data buffer on error, so it isn't really reading per-se. Also it's really slow, since the drive attempts to re-read the sector multiple times because it thinks there's an error.

Alternatively, it's possible to add support for reading DVD-R backups through a USB drive, but I'm not sure if there's a point. HDDs are physically smaller than a DVD-ROM drive, hold a lot more data, and are much faster.

alright, so I actually made a really simple patch which should not affect any game negatively :)
-added triforce patch to disable all the DI encryption, this should get rid of the random shutdown problems while playing triforce games

I noticed that sometimes when using the PAL IPL with Sonic Heroes, the GameCube startup sound is muted. The game sounds and the normal IPL sounds (if I hold A to get to the IPL) work fine, though. This might just be an issue with my TV, since it's switching from 480p to 576i when starting the IPL. (If I press R+Z+Start to do a soft reset during the startup animation, there *is* sound after it resets.) I'll test it on other devices later.

Anyways, finishing up the PR for the FatFS branch, and then you get to review a bunch of commits. :D
