Another tip: if you have a Chimchar, and you want a mixed sweeper Infernape, don't evolve him until it learns Nasty Plot in the twenties. +2 stages of SpA owns with a STAB'd Flamethrower + proper EV spread.

i understood so little of that!
- whats a sweeper?
- SpA? - guessing special ability count goes up by 2?
- STAB'd?
- proper ev speed?
would really appreciate a few tips on what it all means!
Well...*snip*
I created a 2nd cherubi in attempt to trade it for a burmy (i want to complete the shinnoh pokedex and the honey and trees things is taking a long time) and when i'm trying to trade it, I keep getting this error saying that "this Pokemon cannot be offered for trade"
Odd. Maybe I just subconsciously put attention to detail.

Hes talking about competitive pokemon. For the hardcore battlers(maybe).
Sweeper => Speed attackers (?)
SpA => Special Attack stat
STAB is on some move where they pierce defense(?)..something like that.
EV =>Â Â Effort Values -> a means of boosting your stats
So for a Mix Sweeper, they want Attack, SpA, and some Speed(maybe).
Oh and I REALLY wish that you could register more than one item at a time (for L or R buttons) because it's really annoying having to go into my bag all the time, because i always have bike registered (dur!)
is it not possible to capture another npc's pokemon from them? Every time I use a pokeball, it gets swatted away and they always say: dont be a thief!

Actually its not possible to capture another npc's pokemon...
Question...What is that red dot on the map?
1) That's what I meant.You can not do that now unless somebody hacks the rom but still it is difficult.At the moment it is not possible...Actually its not possible to capture another npc's pokemon...
Question...What is that red dot on the map?
1) In the older games there was a code to capture other trainer's pokemon. I doubt such a code exists now.
2)The red dot that moves around for a little bit then starts back to it's first position? That just shows you where you were last located at and where you went.
oh well i spoke too soon
i just got beaten by a gastly!!
never knew it was that good, i caught it after that though
is ghastly supposed to be good?

Gengar is an extremely fast pokemon and it has a high special attack stat. I believe the new move system (physical + special) improved it (in the older versions ghost type was a physical attack); Gastly would also be of the same skew in stats, however obviously lower.
Gyarados is generally a useful pokemon to have. Unusually high attack stat with a movepool of strong physical attacks at very early levels. Just don't teach it hydro pump or hyper beam as it has a horrible base special attack stat. It can also learn a large variety of physical moves from various types through TM and HM (rock, ground, water, etc)

Still, a visual list of all 26 would be nice
