Sorry if this is the wrong forum (seemed right to me):

First of all, I have a Wiinja modchip. I posted this at their forums but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask here since their forums are very very slow.

I have some GC ISOs, and I tested them in Dolphin and they both work. When I tried to burn them with Alcohol 120%, it didn't recognize the image (foreign image), and when burned with default FI options they didn't work in the Wii.

Now, at Wiinja's forums, they say if you are using DVD+R media (which I am), you have to do something called "DVDROM BOOKTYPE", but searching on goog didn't do much to inform me on what exactly this is.

Is there a sure-fire way to burn GC games on DVD+R (for play on Wiinja) that someone could tell me about? I just can't seem to tell what's wrong.

edit: Oh, and they're both NTSC USA games, and I have a USA Wii.

Since I don't have a Wii, I can give you help on the burning part.

I use Nero to burn my images at a lowest speed and I also checked the "finalize image" option. It also helps that the media of the disc I bought contained the G04 ink (hard to find in shops. Had to go on ebay). I assume that when you downloaded the GC ISO you actually changed the extension to .iso and not GCM or something. That could help in getting the file to be recognised. Granted I am using DVD-R and I used these steps to GC ISO to run on my Gamecube with a Viper chip.

I use Verbatim -r DVD's and use imgburn, Burning at 4x. You wont need to change the ext of the file either. There should be an option in imgburn to change booktype. If not search these forum as there was a 12+ page thread about buring games.

It came as ISO, after unraring. Nero doesn't give me much info on it. Only the size, data type, and disc type. Other than that, just lets me choose finalize/speed/etc and burn. I always finalize.

Okay so as it turns out, I pretty much have no choice but to go out and buy some DVD-R media. I tried to change the booktype of my DVD+R media (after some research into the matter), but apparently I have a no-name DVD burner by a company called "HL-DT-ST" and it's supported by no bitsetting programs. I guess that explains why no games are working, not even Wii games apparently.

Uhm actually , I've had no problems with my burned GC games up to.. well never at the moment.

I use dvd+r media, burn it with imgburn , change the booktype to ( for me that is samsung : dvd-rom ) burn it at 4x speed

and nothin special actually, it boots just great on my PAL wii ( using a wiikey, and the games are ntsc )

so in general:

1 : download/install/open imgburn
2 : write modus
3 : load iso
4 : change booktype to dvd-rom
5 : burn it at low speeds like 4x ( I use verbatim dvd+r , had no problems at all )

Hope that it helped

Sorry >< just re-read the whole post you made,
:\, good luck with the dvd-r's
