But there is no mention of how to change each specific manufacturer ID, only how to inject the header into a ROM using No Man No Sky.

You mean the chip ID? Sorry to ask but why you want to change it?

Yes But I search a reseller in Germany so I dont need to pay the "zoll"
They have resellers in germany too. Did you get one there?

Are you using sky3ds? Becouse if you download sky3ds template, you dont need to change any chip id, just insert your private header to it.
Ah because not all games have same Chip ID. How would i go about changing it?

Yes you can because you will need just one header for all your games. but keep the original game, dont sell it. Then anyone will use that header again

Hi everyone,
I bought a Sky3dsand I am having an issue in opening DiskWriter. When I tried the first time and it gave me the "choose drive" option, I clicked "OK" sincethere was only 1 drive option to choose. An error came up saying: (see diskwriter 1 thumbnail). After getting this, I ran Diskwriter under administrator as suggested by so many other threads. However this came up: (See diskwriter 2 thumbnail).

diskwriter 1.PNGDiskWriter 2.PNG I have gone through a few threads on different sites and saw that I am not the only one with this issue, but no one seems to have the answer for it. I have tried using both USB and SD adapters for my microSD card. The problem didn't change. Then I thought maybe the issue was my computer so I tried different computers. And still the same issue. Could someone please help me to solve this problem?

I had a similar issue the first time I used diskwriter. I was using an usb adapter and got an error, then I changed to a sandisk sd adapter and load diskwriter as admin and it worked. But i dont remember which error I got, but it popped a window just like yours.

Try again using another micro sd

Do you have any issues formatting (fat32) your microsd card when it is inserted into the reader? If so, try a different reader.

  1. Format the card first, fat32
  2. Insert the reader, with microsd card inserted, into your computer. I suggest using a USB 1.0 port rather than a 2.0 or 3.0 port. If all you have is a 2.0 or 3.0 port make certain that you don't receive a performance message (assuming you are on a Windows PC)
  3. Open diskwriter by right clicking and selecting 'run as administrator'

Ok. I was using a samsung 32gig micro sd card. I will buy a sansdisk card and see if there is a difference.

No I have no issues formatting (fat32) when the micro sd card is inserted in the reader. When I open diskwriter on my desktop it works fine. Its when I try to put it on my micro SD card after I did the Format (fat32) thing, then I get that same stupid error message again even after I run diskwriter as an administrator.

Its really weird... you said that you tried to run it in other PC but got the same error, then the problem must be in diskwriter you downloaded or your micro sd.

if this does not work, try using the previous version of diskwriter.

Hey I FINALLY figured out what I was doing wrong. I had copied diskwriter and the template file on to my micro SD card and tried to run it from there. This is why I kept getting that second error Apparently I was not supposed to do that. I was supposed to download it to my desk top and then follow the directions from there. No wonder it wouldn't work no matter what computer I put my micro SD card with. So I opened diskwriter from my desktop. I deleted whatever I had on my microSD card first, then I formatted it with diskwriter. After that I followed the directions on how to write my roms and how to set up the template. And it worked :D Thanks for help and tips guy. I am very happy now.

i got mh4u working online and i spent too many hours to lose, i want to add a new game to my sky3ds but i dont have my old template with the unique ID, chip ID and unknown ID for that game and i dont wont to lose my saved data by just slapping in a new template.

Is it possible to extract the template from my sky3ds? if not, can i extract my coding and copy and paste it on to a new template?

Let me ask ypu some questions:

1-You was playing mh4 with your private header?
2-Do you now your private header number?

If you answer yes to these two questions, then all you have to do is download the sky3ds template from the site and inject your private header ( .bin file) using no ban no sky. You dont have to change anything ( chip id, unknow thing, etc)

If you dont know your private header number (dont remember or lost it) but was playing mh4 with your private header in template then make a backup of your mh4 save and open it on HxD to find out your private header number.
