What's with all the crying and butthurt? Of course this update didn't bring N3DS support, the thread title alone should have clued you in. They wouldn't have upped the version number by only 0.0.1 if it had added something that big :glare:

I don't think you guys have to worry about that. My N3DS XL came last week with 9.0 on it. I think NA and EU will get 9.2.

Right, I also got gifted a 3DS XL back in 2012, I updated it to 9.4 so I'll be get a new 3dsxl v9.0 and trade this one in so its like getting a new3ds for like £70 or whatever, still a good deal

I dont care if I have to wait till 2016 for New 3ds neither, so Shadowone quit complaining:P

I like how so few ppl care about the china, Kor, and twn support

I think the mods should divide the flashcart forum into two subforums: One for GW fanboys/defenders, and one for everything else. And if you post in one subforum, you will not be allowed to post in the other subforum.

At this point those who are reasonable have concluded that there is a high chance that US/EU N3DS's will be on 9.0-9.2. Could retail units come with 9.4? Sure, it's not impossible, but all the circumstantial evidence is pointing to 9.0-9.2.

That being said, if you want to absolutely guarantee a 8.1-9.2 console, import one immediately. Hell due to the exchange rate it is cheaper to buy a Japanese N3DS over a US one at this point. (~$162 reg, $185 XL No Tax) so that is a pretty good option for those that want to save some money as well. Plus if you are in the US and want the regular N3DS you are SOL and have no choice but to import since even if Nintendo releases it here, it'll be >9.2 by the time they do so. I have a N3DS coming via AmazonJP+Tenso for $162 shipped. Not a bad deal to deal with Japanese menus and also be the added benefit of access to the Japanese eshop.

Everyone knew GW would fix the issue for these users, it was never really an issue, just a bug fix. What people really want in verification that their 8.1-9.2 N3DS will work with GW. No video proof or promises will convince people until it is in their hands.

There are plenty of homebrew/exploit items that work across GW and other flash carts or require no flash carts at all. Your idea is bad and you should feel bad.

Give them a break about the New 3DS support for christ sake it's not the same to exploit.. i think you might be surprised that on USA/EUR release it will not only support New 3DS it will support 9.4 - but let's see huh?

And Chinese/taiwan support is important, i mean where do you think the carts are made? And even possibly used the most?

It's actually considerably cheaper to import a Japanese N3DS, besides the regular size is only available via import. The AUS one, sure, that I honestly feel is beyond what someone should pay for a N3DS.

But when you add in tax in the US its closer to $215 for the N3DS XL. you can import a Jap XL for like $185 shipped. I hope the majority of people imported the Jap N3DS, its actually a good deal even if you consider the US release of the XL (~$40 cheaper, $60 for the regular size).

except for the not understand Japanese part, I had thought about importing the aussie N3DS and then we had the announcement for US release. kinda sucks that I bought my 3DSXL for the same price as a N3DS XL just a month or so ago.

It's only the system menu. GW is region free so you can play US dumps on your JP N3DS. For $40, I'll deal with Japanese system menus and bonus access to Japanese eshop. Plus I wanted the regular size so I ordered the black with Boo faceplate. Total came to $185 shipped. Pic not mine, but this faceplate looks damn good on a black N3DS. If only they released a black stand for the regular size as well.

I imported a normal N3DS for $208, which isn't too bad since it's PAL. Won't arrive for a while though, but when it does Gateway will probably have an update for it.

that's pretty cool, but I'm too OCD to save a few dollars. I would get anxiety just looking at it lol

My point is you personally not wanting to import does not mean everyone else made a bad decision. Some people ordered the AUS one recently once the prices jumped sure and that may have been foolish, but most people I see on here actually saved money by importing one and had/have the option to get the regular N3DS as well for even cheaper.
