Hello, I just wanna ask if NH-Game.com is a good site to buy gateway? They sell cheap gateway at under $60 and ships from Asia(I'm from an asian country) and they're certified by Gateway as reseller..

If not, what are alternatives that sells cheap cards, has good record and preferably from Asia for fast shipping..

Also, is gateway still currently the best flashcart?

If It's on the official gateway site for resellers I don't see why not, I had no problems with my reserller. I don't know about Asia and fast shipping sorry ... yes it is the best currently, It probably will always be the best.

Hello, I have some quick questions. I successfully modded my 3DS with a gateway. However when I did the Blue card step I used a 16gb sd card and when I got to the red card step I used another 16gb sd card, meaning each gateway card has its own sd card in it.

My question is this....

If I already did the mod process with the sd card in the blue gateway card, meaning its already been used to flash the 3ds...
Can I just move those files from that sd card over to a smaller sd card and use that one for games?
Or is the sd card stuck with those files once you modded it?
Can I put games on the blue gateway card's sd card and just put it in the Red gateway card and it will still read the games?

yeah you can just put 3ds roms on the blue card SD and use it on both the red card and the blue card as long as it formatted to fat32

or you can just use a smaller SD for the blue card and use the other 16GB for the red card only

so i can just swap the files off of the blue and put on to a smaller without ruining the mod correct? awesome

Hi, I'm new to this, and couldn't find the answer to my question anywhere.

So I just bought my first 3DS, not XL, from eBay UK, firmware version 2.2.0-0E, brand new for £80 (good deal I reckon). I understand that I need to use a retail game to update my firmware to 4.1-4.5, and I'm looking at Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, which comes with 4.3.0 and is cheap at the moment, and a game I want to play. I really want to use emunand, and it sounds like everything is working great with the Gateway 2.3b firmware. However. every time I see a mention of emunand, either on the wiki or on the forum, people always seem to be talking about firmware version 4.5.0. So my question is:

Can I use emunand 8.x with firmware 4.3.0 and Gateway OMEGA 2.3b?

Also, is there any particular reason to be on 4.5.0 rather than 4.3.0, and if not, will there be in the future?

Yes, any firmware between 4.1 and 4.5 included.

Edit: looks like 4.3.0 is perfect as it's the latest version that my acekard 2i running AKAIO supports. Great.

Haven't use my 3ds in a while and I'm trying to update.
Current set up

System NAND: 4.2.0-9U
EmuNAND: 7.1.0-16U
Real Gateway Flashcard on v2.2
NAND backed up

So what I think I need to do is

replace gateway 2.2 launcher.dat with the 2.3b launcher.dat
boot in EmuNAND and update to current firmware 8.1.0-19

I should be able to play all the currently released games then correct? I'd also like to make a backup of my EmuNAND just in case using emuNAND Tool 1.0.1. If i just use that and click extract emunand will I be able to revert my new 8.1.0-19 EmuNAND to my 7.1.0-16U backup? Thanks so much

Yep spot on as far as i can tell, well done

you're better off having a back up off 8.1 emunand though instead of 7.1 simply because it's the last stable release that works with ALL games. Just my opinion. Upto you.

Can you be more specific, two 3DS with what firmware? Gateway comes with two cards as standard, one is used to install the exploit that allows backups to be played and the other actually plays them .. be more specific please.

Ok. Well, i have two 3ds v4.5, but i don't have enough money to buy 2 packs of gateway card. One 3ds is from my sister and one is mine, so maybe i can order only one pack... or do i need two?

Yeah just order one, you get everything you need in one pack, you'll just have to take it in turns who plays when, install the exploit on yours and hers through blue card. Then whenever she's done with it you can simply take the red card and play it in your 3ds (get two seperate micro SD's) which store the games aswell, that way you can just put your MicroSD card into the red gateway card and into your 3ds and your good to go and vice versa.

Sorry if that sounded confusing.

Thanks for your reply. I will make a backup of both. I want to be able to go back if i want to play any Gameboy Advance virtual console games or DSiWare as they are not supported it 2.3b yet.

Hey guys,

I'm really lost and hope you guys can give me a hand haha. So I bought a Gateway kit for my 3ds. LONG story short, I had a bad blue card and in the meantime bought an R4i Gold card

to load the exploit. I received it today, followed their steps, and got it to load into it from the flashcart

. It loaded wood and successfully ran the installer. Went back to home menu, took out r4i, inserted SD with the launcher.dat that was freshly formatted, and went into system, other settings, profile, nintendo ds profile. However, it isn't loading into anything.. just shows the nintendo ds profile options.

So that's my first issue.. it not loading to allow me to run any 3ds roms. Once that issue gets resolved, I have another question.. so I have the Gateway Red card but I'm unsure how to use it in conjunction with my r4i gold.. once the exploit is successfully ran, I just pop the roms on the gateway red card and it can load them without going through any steps again?

I'm sorry, I had a good handle on things before but now using r4i with gateway instead of exclusively gateway is just confusing me.
