This is just speculation based on the trailer: Greninja looks like a clone of Lucario. The water shuriken-ish move looks like a charge up attack similar to Lucario/Mewtwo's charge up blast, and the counter attack where he replaces himself with some pokemon I don't recognize looks like Lucario's down-b counter move.

Remember, I'm just speculating. One of my biggest wishes for this game was for the reworking of clone characters. I don't care if you agree with me, but when I see them potentially showing off a new character as a clone, it saddens me a little.

I mean, not that I care about Wii U's current state but wouldn't this move hurt the Wii U version sales?

Yeah with the 3DS version out this summer, I feel that it's going to hinder the Wii U version sales by a bit. Hoping that they'll try to release the Wii U version earlier but who knows, maybe it needs that extra polish time

I think he replaces himself with the Substitute like in Pokemon X and Y.

I like the idea of removing transformation from gameplay and upB tethers but there are still many things about this iteration that turns me off like Brawl did.

Ok just woke up and watched the whole thing, iv done a quick list of pros and cons that stand out to me:

Pros:
- Greninja is awesome! I assume he will have a very shiek-like moveset with some larger looking projectiles. Im totally on board with that and may main him early.
- New items all look fantastic.
- The different final destination style levels are great
- The online monitoring and bans for players who abuse in various ways. Brawl taunt matches are hopefully a thing of the past thank GOD.
- Zelda's new attack.
- Customizing moves for offline only.
- 3DS version out in summer, not long to wait!

Cons:
- Little mac being ground-based means he WILL be spammed on the "glory" online mode since the level will require very little jumping and air combat.
- Rosalina still looks far too powerful with far too many moves for crowd control and item control. Her recovery looks strong too.
- Charizard filling one of the pokemon slots, i know he's popular but i can think of like 50 pokemon that i would rather have in the game
- Olimar looks nerfed
- Since Ness is still not confirmed, im pretty sure Lucas isnt in the game (My main on Brawl)
- Wii-u version out later (The version i want) but im not going to wait for it since i also own a 3DS and im not buying both.

Is Nintendo turning into Microsoft? Making weird decisions...
Did Sakuri say some time ago that the Wii U version would have a lot more content than the 3DS version? IMO, the 3DS version releasing first is more of an appetizer prior to the main course.

Then the Wii U version must be FAR better than the 3DS version to give people enough incentive.

Is it safe to assume that there are still yet to be revealed characters? I'd think so since we're missing Ness and Captain Falcon.

Ness, Jigglypuff and Captain Falcon are the 3 from the original N64 game that haven't been confirmed yet. I expect to see all of them in the finished game.

There'll be more at E3.

I assume by "Summer 2014" (Winter in Australia) that Nintendo mean 'right at the end of August'.

the wiiu stages look fucking gorgeous! fuck the 3ds i know what version i want. and my wiiu lan adapter IS ready! have a few cons though:

  • Disappointed you can't use custom rules etc when playing random battles that will be the main mode i will be using. i don't want to play with all the items especially the ones that KO you in one shot.
  • No online ranking WTF...??
  • why no smash run on the wiiu??

For the 3DS version, yes, the Wii U version will likely be a Christmas or Thanksgiving-targeted release. I'm sure we'll see the rest of them at E3 :P

That last one, yeah, pretty f***ing retarded not to have that in the Wii U version, hate to say it, but I couldn't give two shits about the 3DS version lol :rofl2: They'd better have a compensating feature to make up for it.

Oh My god I cried from laughing when i came home ad saw the release dates. How often can Nintendo Shoot themselves in the foot with Game releases? Theyve gotta be running out of toes by now

That was exactly what I thought as well! My guess is that they seperated the release for double dippers and they gave the Wii U a winter release because it's the holiday season.
Though, I'm sure the Wii U version will have some sort of extra mode like Smash Run, otherwise it's just another reason to pick the 3DS version over the Wii U.
