BassAceGold, was this ever addressed? o-o I've noticed it's just Pokémon ROMs that cause me to re-boot into EOS before I can launch them.

I have no clue why that happens. The only thing I can think of is maybe the rom title is using a unicode character (that funny e) and it isn't written correctly to the ini file, or it is and EOS doesn't like it.

Here's the problem:
I've gotten my SCDS2 today, installed the latest EOS and some custom skins. Then I've read about BAGPlug and tried to installed it. Downloaded the latest version from filetrip and copied the files (dstwo.nds and boot.ini) to the _dstwo folder and the _bagui folder to the root. When I start the SCDS2 it gives a black screen with various MMC messages, BAGPlug version number and this message "root set to: /_bagui/".
Am I doing something wrong? I've already tried formatting the MicroSD card with SDFormatter and changing sectors sizes. Any tips would be appreciated.

just a guess, it sounds like bagplug is booting up (the boot script text is normal), but its then not finding a skin to display for some reason.

to troubleshoot, check that your themes file name in _bagui/skin/default matches the 'skin = default' setting in _bagui/user files/settings.ini

Thank you for this program and for the good advice in this forum.
I have a question. I know that I can not directly use Sega Genesis games (with emulator JEnesisDS the best but without further development). But games with. SMD extension introduced in my MicroSD, I loaded only by first opening the emulator and EOS 1.11, since the function INTERNAL emulator crashes the emu. The .arg file to SMD directly load the games to INTERNAL mode, is there any way that games for JEnesisDS automatically loaded with EOS 1.11?

just to be clear, you cant direct boot genesis games without launching the emulator first.
to have the emulator launch with EOS, use a text editor to make a
JEnesisDS.nds.arg
Code:
EOS 1.11:
"/_dstwo/DSGAME.nds"//file path
[$PRGMPATH$]//arguments are separated by commas
-EOSSETTINGS
;

and put it in the same directory as JEnesisDS.nds

Hello, I'm having the same problem as several others in this thread where I just can't get BAGPlug to start properly no matter what I try, it seems. Every time I try I get this black screen:

photo.jpg

I've tried using EOS v1.11 (2012-12-24) and EOS v1.11 (2012-12-12) with BAGPlug release 3-5 fix 1 and 3-4, but still nothing. I've also tried using 'DSTwo.nds' and 'boot.ini' from here, but still no change to the above. I've read this thread and I've tried suggested solutions that involve deleting 'DSGAME.nds' or renaming a skin from 'Default' to 'default', along with its corresponding entry in /_bagui/user files/settings.ini, or even pressing start or select when loading the DSTwo (to stop my 3DS XL from scaling images), but still no changes. I've tried this on an 8GB and a 2GB SD (both of which I formatted using this, with 'overwrite format' and 'logical address adjustment' selected), but still nothing. I've even tried copying files to the SD on OSX and Windows (on Parallels for Mac) to see if that'd make a difference, which it didn't (I also tried running dot_clean commands in Terminal in OSX).

I'm nearly ready to give up. What am I missing here???

Edit 1: I've subsequently updated my 3DS XL from firmware 4.something to the latest 6.2.0-12U. I've also noticed two things, that if I hold select whilst I load the DSTwo the 1.11 DSTwo menu loads instead of BAGPlug or any error, and secondly that many files and folders seem to be in UPPER CASE when I browse directories using the 1.11 DSTwo menu. Could either of these things account for why I can't get BAGPlug working? Help please?

Edit 2: I don't know whether anyone's been following my issue or had similar ones, but I did manage to get it to work (not really). BAGPlug (well, the GUI) works only when I delete all the .arg files in /_bagui/ext/. Whenever I include just one ('bmp.arg' for instance) the skin doesn't load and I can't do anything. Of course this means I can't launch any games/media/etc. either... So unless someone can help me I'm just going back to EOS.

Is it possible to have one icon for all files of one type? For instance, right now my epub books show an image of a broken file, well I want one custom icon for all .epub files. Is this possible so I don't have to have 50+ images of the same image?

I thought I'd give this a try. I'm having no luck setting up cover art. I copied the example exactly, put it in the same folder as my ds games, put the cover art in the right spot. Cover is for NSMB, named A2DE. It's a png, made a little smaller than the favorites background.

Trying to update my DSTWO, but card not detecting the update file in root.

Is this due to BAGUI booting first?

Trying to return boot to normal to see.

EDIT: Cool, worked it out.

If you want to update so it detects the update file in root.

Move boot.ini and DSTwo.nds to your desktop.

Place the original DSTwo.nds in the _dstwo folder.

Put cart back in and it will update.

Now you can move boot.ini and DSTwo.nds from your desktop back to _dstwo folder.

or you can just rename the update from dstwo to ds2 and put it on the root. works with imenu

That's a round about way of doing it. All you have to do is put the original dstwo.nds file somewhere, then load it with DS_GAME
