Hi all,

What does everyone think about the above ?

To me using Skype via the Wii U gamepad makes sense and can't be that difficult and since there was a BBC iPlayer channel for the Wii then surely it could be done on the Wii U as well ?

Thoughts ?

I originally felt that Microsoft would be out of their mind to bring Skype to competing consoles (handhelds are another thing since Microsoft isn't exactly in that market), but Skype, while acquired by Microsoft, still works somewhat independently from them. The Wii U has everything Skype needs to work, as shown by Wii U Chat. Would be nice to have Skype on 3DS too.

Playstation Vita has Skype so I don't see why Wii U shouldn't or couldn't. Not sure what all the process involves though and what deterrents might exist.

they will get it eventually. the system is only just over two months old. things have to be developed and or ported to be used with the system. i am sure at e3 that there will be a ton of announcements on new features and apps for the wii u from 3rd party developers..
