Soon you will go to jail for cheating, it's really getting ridiculous at this point.

It's actually not so ridiculous. With games like diablo III using real currency in the game to buy and sell things, you can easily be sued for being a fraud and upsetting an economy. In the worst case you can spend some time in jail..

This is quite a mild punishment for being caught cheating at a tournament with actual prize money.

Shouldn't that usually result in being disqualified instantly (meaning no prize money at all instead of just a measily 20% cut)?

Or Action RTS also sorta works.

Actually, that does not work for any MOBA (except for maybe Airmech), because there aren't any RTS elements in them.

In their defense the "cheating" was absolute bullshit. They put a giant screen up for the audience that shows all the players at all times and is within view of all the players. Instead of just investing in a goddamn wall or something to shield it from players, they chose the "honor system". There's still a big ass screen showing everything happening, honor system or not, you're gonna look at it one time or another.

It's not like it was some intricate network of secret spy cams to screenlook, it was an oversight by the designers of the tournament area.

Well, that's a piece of information I didn't have.
In that case, walls would have made a lot of sense.

I was thinking about a redesign of the stage. Currently the stage appears to be concave-ish, so it is easy for players to sneak a glance I guess. But if it were to be convex-ish, then unless the player's neck can elongate and rotate that much, it would be impossible to 'accidentally' look at the mini map. That will result in the accommodation of less audience since the space at the very edge will be rendered useless but yea :\

To quote Canadian comedian Steve Smith (on a TV show called The Red Green Show), "To me, cheating just means you care about winning."
In all seriousness, why did they have to cheat in the first place? Did they suck that badly? At least Nintendo only bans you from their servers for cheating.

Since when did the genre stop from being an AoS type of game and turn into a DotA/MOBA (I don't even know what MOBA means)?

MOBA = Multiplayer Online Battle Arena. It's the closest genre classification you get to games like Dota, LoL, Smite, etc.

Or Action RTS also sorta works.
MOBA sounds too broad... almost all of the good online games are multiplayer with PVP battles, be it MMORPG, MMOStrategy, MMOSports... it's not just a coin term but a coin-all term. I don't think people even remember what AoS is (or have played it).

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
