League of Legends, a Dota clone MOBA, is pretty popular. Seriously, the game is popular to an almost stupid degree. Like, goddamn, it's more popular than puppies and ice cream (separate or together). How popular are talking here? Well... Forbes Sorry, everybody else. You may be legends, but this is out of your league. (See, it's a joke, because I am using words from the title of the game in a different context.) Seeing numbers like that, and looking at Riot's financial figures for 2013, it isn't hard to figure out why so many companies are jumping on the MOBA bandwagon as of late. From indies to juggernauts like Blizzard, there's a lot of money to be made here. The new phrase in the industry seems to be, "Mo' MOBA, mo' money." Presumably the problems come later.
