@Shag. I use Windows' built in tools, plus a program (guiformat.exe) I found on this site to format my drives accordingly. Unless you think EaseUS Partition Master can do something these can't then ok. I mean I'll try anyways, but I'm not sure it will make any difference. Also I can imagine cluster size is important, but it mustn't be that important if neek2o will work anyways when my 2GB flash drive can only have a cluster size of 16KB. Also did you even take a look at the syscheck I attached?
cluster size is important, can only work with 32k an below, that's why your flash drive worked at 16k. though it wouldn't work to well to load the gc games. as far as partitions, use gui exe.
it's the recomended one, if that doesn't work you can try EaseUS. an post your syscheck as a spoiler. shouldn't have to download to look at it.

I did the same thing with a flash drive you did when I could not get neek2o setup with my WD Elements 1.5 Tb hdd. I can only tell you what worked for me. I first formatted my drive with windows tools and couldn't get it to work. When I used EaseUS and made 1 primary fat32 partition, then it worked. I wasn't looking forward to doing that because it took about 12hrs but I'm glad I did now. Maybe the drives your using are just not compatible.

As far as your syscheck, nothing looked out of the ordinary to me but I'm sure there are better equipped people with more expertise than I to analyze it.

I hope you get your setup to work.

@OBCD and OVERJOY

It is possible to precompile the last revision 80 from svn on google source page?
Please update the download-page on google source with rev 80.
I ask XFlak to update modmii with neek2o rev 80, but he sayed, obcd or overjoy must compile it and upload it to then google source Download section.

Ok this may be the wrong place for this but seeing as I am having the most difficulty with neek2o I thought I would start here by asking would a wiikey (updated to 1.9s) along with a presoldered wii-clip installed in my Wii cause any compatibility issues? I thought I would ask before I take my Wii apart and pull the modchip out (if need be).

I don't think the installed wiikey should make a difference when it comes to running neek2o.
So I suggest we try to figure out why your setup isn't working.
Since you say "most difficulty", I assume you have other problems as well?

Besides a wiikey being installed, could you provide more information about your system?
For instance, it's important to know what you have tried so far, what harddisk you are using and how it's configured.
Your other problems might help as well to pinpoint the issue(s) causing it.

Well if you look back at the past few pages you would see the problems I've been trying to work out. I tried uneek+di with my current hard drive (2TB WD Green drive in an external enclosure with 40GB formatted as a fat32 partition with 32kb cluster size and the rest formatted as an ntfs partition) and a 1GB sd card. I've tried uneek+di with a different hard drive (320GB seagate in a different external enclosure) same 1GB sd card. I've tried sneek+di using a 4GB sd card and using an 8GB MicroSD card. The only set up I could get to work was a uneek+di set-up using my 1GB sd card AND a 2GB flash drive. For me I'm currently looking to run WiiWare/VC stuff, but if I could get this to work well enough that I could experiment further with it then I would definitely need something more than 2GB, which is why I wish either my hard drive would work or one of the SD/MicroSD cards would work.

Every setup I've tried I used ModMii to create the files I should need. As I've said before I have all the latest cioses and all that installed and I have bootmii as boot2 installed.

OH I guess I should say that other than 1GB SD card + 2GB flash drive setup every other setup leaves me hanging with a blank screen and a flash light from the disc slot.

I just don't see why that one setup would work while all others fail.

Attached here is a syscheck using the latest version of syscheck and at least according to ModMii everything is up to date, but does it matter that my boot2 is v2 and not v4?

sysCheck v2.1.0b18 by Double_A and R2-D2199

Is the FAT32 partition the first partition and set active?

The flashing disc slot light means that it can't read the data from your hdd. Without an usbgecko log it's hard to say the exact reason. It can be a wrong setup (cant find partition), missing or wrong placed files or an unsupported device

Well I'm not sure how you know if it's the first partition but it is primary and it is active. I do know that when I view the drive in disk management it shows the NTFS partition 1st then the FAT32 partition 2nd. Also I'm not sure what a usbgecko log is but if you could tell me how to make one I could. On a side note it seems the potential problem you suggested is what seems to be the exact problem I had with getting postloader to work. I was talking with stfour about it and it seemed that PL could see the hard drive and could see the NTFS partition but not the FAT32 partition. He seems to know what the issue is and is working on a fix but I'm not sure if this fix is something that could be applied when trying to use neek2o or not.

If it helps here is a link to the PL thread at the point where I was getting help from stfour, http://gbatemp.net/t...ost__p__4200129

If you need additional info like the files he asked me to email him I can provide them, just let me know.

FAT32 partition is second in your setup. That is the problem. Under disk management, the FAT32 partition MUST be first, primary and active.

Hello to all!

Anyone who can help me, please reply on this.

I have a working Sneek+DI installation for the past 2years, I just want to update it to play new games. Can I use modmii? If yes, what should be my choices on it? Lastly, should I erased all my old files and replace it with the new modmii package?

Many thanks for all your help.

Well short of reformatting the drive, I assume, there is no other way to make the FAT32 partition BE the first partition? It's weird, though, after a couple years this finally decides to be a problem. I think my hard drive was setup the way it is since the first day I got it, but I never had any problems until I recently updated PL and tried to run a neek2o setup.

It even requires more than reformatting. You need to repartition the disc.
The problem is the same. Most tools can't do it properly without loosing the contents of the existing partitions.
Since we all are model citizens when it comes to using digital equipment, we have a decent backup of the contents of our harddisc(s) which we can restore afterwards.

yes you can use mod mii to update your set up. just noticed mod mii got up dated,so not sure if the same set up is used when it comes to building the nands.
you might have to open the options an change to build the classic set up of sneek.( haven't played with mod mii yet to find this out.) it was set up that you had to switch from building the moded sneek/neek2o, to build the classic.

Ok, WOW, I want to thank everyone for their help. I was able to EASILY use EASUS Partition Manager to reconfigure my hard drive and instantly everything worked like a charm. PL worked just like normal and better yet neek2o worked as well. Now I have some questions given that I got everything setup how I want it.

I have a bunch of WiiWare/VC stuff on my nand, now when I autoboot my Wii to PL, PL can see all the games on my nand, however when I autoboot into my emunand (showing me the emulated system menu and all that) it doesn't see all my games just three VC wads. I went to see if PL installed on the emunand could see everything but it wanted to generate config files and then I backed out as I didn't want them to conflict my current setup. I tried joyflow loader but that only saw the same 3 VC wads.

Question is what's the best way to view and launch all these WiiWare/VC wads? Do I have to do so by first autobooting into the emunand or is there some way PL on my real nand can be configured to launch them with same compability I get from the first option (because I can launch them from within PL on my real nand they just don't always work)?

Oh and one other question, can an emunand setup read .iso wii games yet or do they still have to be in .wbfs format?

Again, thanks for the help everyone, I was able to just finish up a round of Mario Golf, didn't fair too well, but all was fun, :)

You should find a sneekcache folder among your nand folders. That one should contain a channelcache.bin file.
Try renaming that file. Upon the next boot, it should recreate the file, hopefully with all channels available now.

The best way to launch that VC/wiiware is from within neek with postloader. It gives maximum compatibility and online gaming should work.

The emunand setup is only capable of loading fst extracted games and games in wbfs format. There is no reason to leave them as iso.
In iso format, they always take 4 or 8 gig of space on your harddisk. In wbfs, some games don't even need 1 gig of storage space.

Postloader is having a real nand setup that launches neek2o with the region correct nand. it launches the channel as well.
It requires a pl_eu and pl_us nand under your nands folder. It's setup should be described in the postloader readme.

Hi Shortz,

Thanks for the reply. The problem I encountered before was I tried to create from Modmii and chose S and 3 then followed the rest... when I copied the files created to my SD it did not work. I just got a black screen. I tried to erase, merge and remove some files but failed. Any quick guides how can I update my SNEEK+DI to NEEK20??? Please point me in the right direction.

Sorry if this is off topic. Appreciate your prompt reply.

so you only built the nand?(pl-x ).. you'll also need to change the sneek folders on usb an on sd..(though sd isn't really needed, cause you can boot sneek/uneek2o, with out an sd card). can't remember the moduel that is differnt inside the folder,(havent played with it in awhile) but regular sneek, an neek2o are booted differnt from each other. just have modmii build the sneek folders for neek2o, you can keep your nands those will work. an depending on what your using to enter your neek set up, the s2u channel doesn't work,(downloaded from mod mii) you can grab the nswitch an place that in the channel( showmii wads/nand. then right click an replace the dol, for the channel.) or grab one of the channels from the google page. but if using sneek you'll still have to have the sdcard in the wii of course. neek2o on usb works with out the sd card as far as booting.
