Neimod from 3dbrew.org has shared some impressive photos of his hard work on finding an exploit in 3DS system.
That is not an impressive photo, that is the 3DS' bottom screen upside-down.
Yeah, Neimod is an idiot that can't be trusted. lol (Edit: @Frogboy--Alright you're forgiven, we all make mistakes. :) )

FYI that is one of many pics that show his RAM dumper in action. And he has dumped the 3DS's RAM -- a hugely important step toward 3DS homebrew.

If they aren't releasing anything I don't see why they would try to fool us. If they're releasing something fake, that's just somewhat stupid, they wouldn't earn that much from it...

It seems I've found the some "solid" proof of it being fake :

Crown3DS claims:

*snip* 512MB *snip*
And yet:
Title : Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 3D
Size : 2 GB
Nice find.
It's really a point against the crown3DS.
I find it odd that they are not giving the correct size. If they under-dumped their own games it wouldn't have work as everything is encrypted, you can't launch only the beginning of the data.

Remember the 3DS Cartridge can hold an update partition, and 3DS Internal memory is 1,5GB.

I lost faith in crown3ds or whatever they're called anyway. I'd rather prefer the 3DS not being hacked

Congratulations, you're the first person I've ever heard saying "____ shouldn't be hacked"

The 3DS would benefit SO MUCH from a hack. There's no telling what we could do with 3D homebrew...

Yeah and it would end up like Wii, abandoned.

The features a 3DS now has is something I have yet to see on another handheld, streetpass, renewed friend code / connectivity engine (in-games too), awesome & free online,
better hardware to develop, cheap cartridges, 3DS Eshop, 3D Classics (I don't really care about this one).

And constant updates. I was a pirate until I noticed the quality of gameplay a 3DS could offer, and i'll be supporting them to keep the quality development the 3DS requires

haha the 3ds is practically abandoned too then if you put it next to the wii, there are hardly any eshop 3d titles its all crap dsi ware, ,and fyi only slightly under 1% of the entie wii userbase has modded consoles ,nobody is going to give up on a console cause less than 1 % of its userbase MIGHT pirate a game, besides there is still support for wii, they even came out with a new hardware revisions

There is still support, yes right. The DVD video chip removed from DVD Logical Unit, those wiis come bundled with an unmodified SM (as mios still exists) maybe some newer ios(?), removed GC ports, etc, and that's about it. If I put my 3DS next my Wii, I think: 3DS's connectivity beats the shit out of Wii one. Remember? Wiiconnect24, I haven't used it, like, ever. What about games using that feature? Maybe 2 or 3 and what kind of features did it offer? Were those useful at all?

3DS's streetpass, Mario Kart ghosts challenges renewing through Internet // Spotpass. While I agree on the dsiware crap, I can bet safely 3DS Eshop will offer better games (SNES/N64 portable anyone?)

As stated by various developers, the piracy on Wii has taken quite the toll, hence, lose money == lose interest. Maybe not directly on DVD copies, but rather through e-sales.

On an outdated system. (I love my wii, but most games on Wiiware were cancelled because the system limits) .

--

The 3DS being fun as hell, portable, powerful enough, having support from known third parties (yes, some of them have cancelled various projects) will have more and more success as more known titles be released. Heck, support developers!

/end offtopic.

And the site still shows 70%... wonder if their exploit was already found by Nintendo (if true)

I would say release more pics of vids per, say, 10% but they haven't. No point in getting hopes up. Just ignore it and wait it out. If it comes out then great, if not then too bad.

I don't see why neimod's upside-down screen is so impressive.

Did you mean to put sarcasm brackets on the sentence?

The upside-down screen is impressive because he finally made a RAM dumper that works on the 3DS (apparently it has sort of a protection, and if I remember right it has a special nand chip which isn't easy to desolder/resolder), meaning he could potentially get the private keys so software/channel hacking could be possible. He *might* be able to finish informing the scene how saves work as well by viewing what the 3DS is doing behind the scenes, so save file modding *might* become possible. Of course, this would take him some time to do it by himself.

No you can't. :ha:

If you flipped your 3DS upside down, your arrow would be on the left side. His is on the right.
