Here is a straight answer. Satin is trying to spend his whole life turning all of our true Christians into sinners. So when judgement day comes everyone who has turned to satin will die because the new world doesn't need evil people.

SATIN WILL KILL US ALL

He won't kill us. We will kill ourselves with his influence.

Satin is a type of fabric. The word your looking for is Satan.

Just like in that song "Nights In White Satan" by that one guy.

Believing in God and Satan as "beings" who grant mercy to or tempt individuals is really no different than Alcoholics Anonymous...

For some people, it's the only way they can do the "right" thing...and that's all fine and dandy.

For others it's a cop-out. "I'm powerless and I have to rely on the kinship of others to in order to make sound decisions." Believe it or not, people take advantage of that thought process.

It makes more sense to me to believe in them as ideas to strive towards and recognize we have ultimate power over the decisions we make.

As far as Satan being "evil"...I guess if you think of God as "good" than Satan would have to be the antithesis of that by default. What if it's as simple as God is a conservative and Satan is a liberal?

I find it difficult to think of a former angel as 'pure' evil.
Archangel, no?

QUOTE(cwstjdenobs @ Aug 7 2011, 04:31 PM) I thought angels weren't meant to have free will, and can only do gods bidding or sing his praises. And I thought that was the same with people once they get into heaven too.
No, all the orders of angels have free will, as does everyone that ends up in heaven.

Personally I think old mythologies have better good/evil battles.
Take the Greek Gods for instance.
Hades is god of the underworld and always trying to dethrone his brother, and leader of all gods, Zeus. This is because when the gods overthrew their parents, the Titans, Hades was the one who created the beast to destroy them but his brother screwed him and made him rule the Underworld. He has a reason and motive to create evil and try to destroy the Gods' creation (humans) and from that the Gods. Though in old mythologies the Gods are a bunch of jackasses a lot of the time. Exacting brutal revenge for things and impregnating the Kings' wives just because.

You loose your ability to sin and spend eternity having to tell El how great he is non stop... doesn't sound like free will to me.

But here's another couple of things to add to the confusing things list.

An omniscient God doesn't know that someone is truly loyal, without getting him to start trying to sacrifice his son, he doesn't just know.

An omniscient God has to send Angels to gather info for him, he doesn't just know.

An omniscient omnipotent God knew exactly what everything would do before he created the universe. There's no way anything could happen that he didn't foresee, and the only way anything could happen differently is for him to create things in a different way. How do we have free will when every decision we make was decided for us before or at the same time as the universe was created?

I can't account for the people you have been talking to but anyone claiming to know anything about Christian religious beliefs would know that Satan (or whatever name you feel does it for you) is a fallen angel that led a rebellion against God and God won.

Well that's the story. It's of course just a story considering neither he nor god actually exist. But I thought I would at least mention the correct details with regards to the guy we call Satan, the father of lies, Lucifer etc etc etc.

He's not in hell because he wants to be there, he wasn't hired to kick sinners asses. He was forcibly put there. He's inmate 01. And he has this odd deal with god concerning sinners and their souls. Part of that free will crap the Christians love to blather on about. There's supposed to be some big battle brewing, but I can't seem to see the ratinale of needing to duke it out with the guy considering he's in jail already. But hey, you can't expect the Christians to keep this bullshit consistent indefinitely eh.

Straight question: Why?
That is literally retarded.
Why would he want to kill his followers for no reason, whatsoever? Isn't that kind of defeating the point of attempting to gain followers?

Yes, it's all in Ezekiel and Isaiah. He did start off as Gods right hand man and his most perfect creation, but the omnipotent omniscient God didn't see the betrayal coming...

Unless you have direct quotes, I find it hard to believe that. Surely devoted Christians would straight away question that otherwise.
