I don't. I believe:
- there will be no Flash nor HTML5 support (3DS is not powerful enough)
- it will only support a few most popular video streaming sites; initially there will be no Youtube 3D support
- for sites which do not have special mobile versions (like 0.facebook.com or m.gmail.com), it will be slow and painful to navigate
- as it has to work when games are suspended, it will only have access to a tiny portion of 3DS' memory, reducing it capabilities

Yes I know that the newest version of NetFront supports all the bells and whistles, but it's not reasonable to always assume the best.
E.g. everyone was raving about Pica200, but for now there is no game that could not be done on PSP (this is even true for trailers of upcoming games EXCEPT for Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid).

How can you be so sure?
Various sources have stated that it supports both of them and I'm more inclined to believe a number of people rather than one.

I'm no sure, that's why I've written "I believe".
However, this is what I think, based on Nintendo's general attitude and speculations as to the 3DS' power.

The 3DS is the most powerful handheld ever.
And what do you mean by 'Nintendo's general attitude'?

I feel you are being bias cause I'm sure I seen a lot of games that couldn't run on the psp which doesn't matter 'cause as you pointed out that the 3DS
can go beyond the psp if devs want to. I think the browser will be good, but I didn't know about that HTML5 support.

it all depends on what you mean by powerful really
compared to a psp? hell yes it is
to a NGP? probably not

besides NGP hasn't even come out yet, so theres no surefire way to check between both

at OP: does youtube even have 3d support? i've seen 3d vids before, but its nothing like what the 3ds can use(i.e red/cyan , cross eyed)
there probably wont be flash, but HTML5 can be a possibility, still no way to be sure yet

imo im expecting it to be usable, i mean if i really want to go on the internet i have a laptop for that

That's a really pessimistic belief you have there, and the basis of your conclusions seem to be without merit. It's funny that you say there will be no flash or HTML5 support due to the 3DS not being powerful enough, yet both the PSP and Wii could do both, AND youtube to some extent, and have less power (less ram and storage). The only reason I'd see Nintendo purposely not supporting the features you mentioned is solely in the interests of protecting kids access to adult content.

It doesn't matter the viewing method, 3D is always the same: 2 pictures + a method to see only one of them with each eye. Youtube's 3D format is basically a video with two streams, one for the left eye and one for the right. That's why you can choose the method to see the 3D. As it has the 2 separate streams, I suppose it should be easy to implement in the 3DS. I'm not sure if it's easy to implement, but it's definitely possible. Also, you can use the 3D external camera to see videos in 3D (I've done it, and the quality is horrible, but it works. You just have to resize the page and use youtube's cross eyed option, and them align each of the cameras with each of the video's sides).

I think the browser won't be the main browser for anybody, meaning it will only be used to check information on games during gameplay, or some other information if you're on the go and doesn't have access to a regular browser, but I'm also hoping that it is good and have flash/HTML5 support.. I love ninty and I'm liking 3DS a lot, but at some areas I'm feeling a little disappointed (the camera quality, the regional locking, etc.) so a decent browser would be the least they can do.

yes but it wont be really in 3d

in order for it to seem like it pops it one of the images has to be slightly different than the other
thats kind of hard to do with a video, you cant really edit another pov into it

and sure you can watch the cross eyed ones on your 3ds, but that kind of defeats the purpose

It's powerful enough for both.
What people don't understand is HTML5 isn't magic, you need software support behind the browser. Nintendo would have to create a 3D container format and come up with a HTML5 standard on their own, which won't happen.
They could throw webm in, but I doubt it. Maybe google will add 3D playback using the webm container or maybe it's already possible. Doubt it.
Flash can easily be used to show 3D or 2D video on a 3DS-spec system.

If it has flash 3D is always possible. Google will work something out, 99% sure of that.

Probabaly.

My personal opinion is the browser will not be 3D enabled. It's not really viable for websites, so the only value it would add is viewing 3D videos.
Nintendo would prefer you watch videos with an application rather than a browser.

There is a 3D tag you can add to your videos that activates some 3D capabilities in the YouTube player.
Ytube3D.png

In fact, it already has a side by side option, I expect that'll be what the 3DS uses if it doesn't get it's own personal stuff.

I expect it to be good. Its NetFront and from the trailers it looks far more impressive than the opera ones.

Hopefully they will have Flash support, together with YouTube 3D. Maybe they might even have such an app in the eShop, YouTube 3DS? Haha, who knows?

Most powerful handheld ever? There are phones that are MUCH powerful than the 3DS. Not to mention the iPad...

It's not fair to compare phones with handheld consoles. Phones are just portable communication devices while handhelds are portable gaming consoles, two totally different things.

Although I must admit that the NGP will be more powerful than the 3DS that's for sure. To what extent is unknown and it is unfair to judge it now.
