Still havent found and answer,

I want to patch the ISO (I dont want to extract the main.dol!) directly. Is that possible and if yes what is the offset where I need to change the value? Because it is not found at 4e 80 00 20 (of course because I am not opening the main.dol directly)

It works, but you need a Alt. dol

I have read it on a dutch forum, but I can't remember the site. Just put a ALT. dol in the root of the SD, the other things you'll need to figure it out by yourself

No, you'll need to extract the main.dol, and edit that one. Why don't you want to extract it btw? There's no reason not to do it so...

I dont want to extract the main.dol! So, you don't want to patch the ISO?? Sorry, but you have to extract the ISO in Wiiscrubber. It's the only way. Unless someone makes a program for it.

TIP: Once it's extracted and opened in a Hexeditor, save it straight away. Something to main(patched).dol so you don't loose the original unpatched one. Just for safe keeping. Then you can edit it. And you have to go to the address line, stated in the first post.

NB: When I searched for, 04 1A F7 10 it couldn't find it. The address line is the safest.

Thanks to everybody for their work and inputs especially Blue-K for the first page

. I have a Argon chipped Wii and I was able to get it working from disk using NeoGamma R8 beta7

- This is bringing back so many memories!!

I have it working now using the Gecko 1.9.2b and the cheat file.

I have Wii System Menu 4.2E Official
WiiKey v2
I instaleld HBC today using BannerBomb for 4.2 (very easy and quick)
I then Placed the Gecko192b folder from the zip folder onto the SD card in the root:\Apps folder (Gecko Link on First Page)
I created a folder on the SD Root called codes
I placed the smnp01.gct file in the codes folder (link on first page)
I started the HBC
Started Gecko
Went to Config to ensure SD Cheats was on
Launched Game

Been running for over 15min now no issues.

I am using the non patched version of the game.

I like the fact that you do nto have to mess with IOS files or the like, nor do you have to install anything other than the HBC

I did have issues using NeoGamma R8Beta7. It woudl get detected in the HBC, I would click load and then get a black screen and all I could do is eject the deisc and power off. I tried it with several different game disc (Mario Kart, NSMB, Zelda, and a few more but same result.

Tried it via bannerbomb and also had the same result.

We had already someone which had the retail version. He made some photo's too

i've got this working on a usb stick but only for 15 minutes, i've only got a softmodded system no chips. i used the neogamma R8b7 plus with the alt.dol and without it and it freezes either way. any other suggestions?

NeoGamma R8Beta7 is the KIDDIE! Serious props & thanx to the guys of WiiPower! =]

Also, WBFS Manager 3.0 gets an honourable mention for it's sheer slickness & ease in formatting the USB Stick, moving the game onto the stick & compressing it down to about 350MB! =]

Couldn't have been easier - although I wish I hadn't wasted about 4 or 5 DVD-Rs before the lightbulb went on. =]

Also, FYI: There is currently NO CHANCE of you (TiNY) getting a disk-based solution for your NSMB backup. But soon... =]

Are you using a softmod? If so, I take it you're not running from disc.

I got mine working using USBCFG loader on my 1gb usb dongle, couldnt get it working through dvd even tried softchip r99 get that dvd error come up like for when mh3 without the 55bugfix, am using the 5416 version or somthing of 53 if that helps anyone 4.0E PAL

My system is:
Wii PAL 4.2E
Wiikey v1 flashed with firmware 1.9s
I had to follow A,B,C step from the guide mentioned before to get NeoGamma R8 beta 7 working for me. After that I have NeoGamma working. And I am able to run NSMB from DVD now. So it's runnig from the DVD, but only through NeoGamma (it gives me "Press reset .... " message if I insert DVD before I start NeoGamma)

Yeah, that's the thing, we already know it works from NeoGamma with a hardmod. It doesn't work with a Softmod via disc. Which is what we're trying to figure out

Yeah, that's the thing, we already know it works from NeoGamma with a hardmod. It doesn't work with a Softmod via disc. Which is what we're trying to figure out

Yep. I would say the whole topic is so much confusing... Mostly because there are a lot of different firmware versions, different modchips, different DVD images and etc. That's why it's a bit hard to pick the right solution.

can anyone tell me why it keeps freezing
i have system menu 4.2u and i'm using neogamma r8b7 with an 8gb pny usb. it keeps freezing after about 3 levels

my system is also softmod

Even with the new boot.dol for USBloaderGX i still get a black screen.

Now USBloader wont even boot and i get a black screen from that too.
