I have a HD TV, None widescreen - Anyone else get black around the borders around the top and bottom like its trying to be wide screen? Is it meant to be this way? thanks for your time.
I don't own any HD TVs, though I would take into assumption that they wouldn't. Check the settings that you're using. I'll take it that it's Neogamma? Check region settings. Perhaps your TV is switching to PAL, but it isn't quite cooperating? You could try forcing NTSC. Just a wild stab, I'm sure I'm way off, but it's worth the suggestion.
I'm using These settings on USB Loader GX:

Video mode: Force NTSC
VidTV patch: On
Error 002 Fix : On
Block IOS Reload: On

Let me turn off VidTV Patch and see if that works

Edit: Nope same problem, the wrist strap logo / 'hold the remote this way' screen isnt in wide screen but the intro video / in game has the black wide screen thing around it, very weird

Good idea, and while I would seriously doubt that it would affect visual, try toggling the Block IOS Reload. I don't recall having to use that when I've loaded the game. Doesn't hurt to try.

Well, that's strange. I'm sorry I wasn't able to help you, I've really no knowledge of what would cause this, hopefully somebody else can shine some light on the matter soon enough.

How do you get to the canon in World 1?

(I know, probably wrong topic)

tought it was in 1-3 you need that proppellor suit then at a moment you see come at a point where a hidden entrane is on top of the screen. Now don't go into the hidden entrance but go over that then you well find a different exit to that canon and go to world 5

Okay, trying to get this going and want to make sure I've got everything.

Starting off, got a PAL 3.2 Wii with a Wiikey chip and a copy of a "Fixed" version of the game.

From what I understand, I need to install 4.0 firmware and put NeoGammaR8Beta7 on my SD card (and install via Homebrew channel?)

Anything I've missed?

Well, according to the first post, all you need to a trucha signed IOS50 (because you are on 3.X) and IOS53 (cause the game needs that to run) if you have a Wiikey.

Use: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Dop-IOS_MOD to trucha both these IOSes. But install IOS50 vv4889. v5120 will brick your Wii.

@Mic_128:

According to what i have read, I think you don't really need to update to 4.0. Maybe you can just download and Install IOS53 and your System IOS (3.2-IOS30, 4.0/4.1= IOS60, 4.2=IOS70) using DOP-IOS and pop in the "FIXED" version of the NSMB.

Please correct me if i am wrong..

*EDIT.. Haha.. you beat me to it.

Is this something you need the Wii to be online for? Just that I can't do that, Wii doesn't like our wireless router.

Yes. Only other way is to get the IOSes from NUS downloader, trucha them yourself (I think ww_packer works: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=95479 ) and install them using WAD Manager.

But because you are installing an IOS that the system menu runs under, it's more risky...

If it works I think I'd rather just use the NeoGamma path. Updating to 4.0 doesn't really do much, and I'd rather not risk stuffing something up. How does NeoGamma work anyway? Just homebrew it and it installs it as a new channel or something? Or is it something that just gets read off the SD card like GeckoOS?

According to the Questions and Threads that still pop up, I would go for: Yes!

(Btw: Updated first post with USBLoader GX, and tried to make the whole Backup-Disc/cIOS situation clearer)
