Hacking New Super Mario Bros. Wii

I recently updated to 4.2U (safemod) because I'm giving this wii to my sis, but anyways I still can't get this game to work, I'm still getting a green screen through Neogamma. I replaced the main.dol and used wiiscrubber, and burnt the iso, but it's still not working. I also tried the alt.dol method and still nothing. I noticed a few other people with this problem, am I doing something wrong?

Edit: Just saw the update on the first page nvm.

Hmm I followed the instructions and change the main.dol but no luck...

does this work on softmod 4.1 NTSC-U? Aslo I'm not sure if this has the New IOS53. I used xzxero
method to do it. Does that include the New IOS 53?

This is just incredible how people have been going crazy because they could not pirate one single game that was just leaked a few days ago, as if their live depends on it (OMG IT'S A NEW MARIO GAME I NEED TO PLAY IT RIGHT NOW)

Nintendo really knows his stuff when it comes to create hype, if it was only for this, they are owning us

If they wanted the hype, they did wrong. The protection would have had to survive until the actual release.

Iso patched with Wiibrickblocker
Main.dol replaced and partition trucha signed
And it seem it'working good by usb loader gx on my wii

Hehehe well Mario is 100X better than Halo, the only other game that is equal to Mario is Zelda, so *yes NINTENDO OWNS US

If you update through nintendo its gonna put you on 4.2 not 4.1

No idea if the game will work or not though im using softmod on 4.2 and its been running fine for 2 hours now using the replace main.dol method with wiiflow.

For the black screen people - I take it they know that it's a PAL release that might have a video mode issue on NTSC machines.......

I am running a NTSC 3.2U softmod and it is working perfect for me

Works 100% perfectly for me.

I'm using USB Loader GX. Alt-Dol (from SD Card). Updated IOS 53 (installed by wad). 002 Fix. Video Settings: Disc Default.

ok, installed neogamma and now it works, anyway to load it from disk channel? and read it normally with my chip?

Did you forget to change the region of the ISO(the game is PAL)? use Regionfrii to patch it into USA/NTSC, then it should work for you.

Or softmd UPDATE to 4.2U it runs perfectly

I can't pass the hold wiimote sideways
I press every button but nothing happens. (I can access the home menu)

Yeah I'm having the same problem, green screen no matter what I try. I'm on 4.0U, however.

I'm on 4.2U softmod, would I still need to use regionfrii to patch it, and then burn to disc again? Would that work?

I, however, would like most of all to get NSMBW to work properly. While booting from the disc channel, it loads on the channel the little intro snipet, but afterwards gives a black screen with the 'error: can't be read' stuff. If loading via NeoGamma, it will give the usual green screen then restart my Wii.

Help would be greatly appreciated. I think maybe I need to update to 4.1 to get it working?

At least you guys are getting errors. Just black screen for me

*edit* Nevermind. All that crap and I just had a bad dump. Re downloaded and now it works just fine.

sounds like a problem my friend had with a different game, it turns out his laptop sucks, and when he was transfering the game onto his hard drive it failed (despite it completing copying successfully). So try deleting the ISO, then re-adding it, but be sure not to overload your PC while its transfering

If i decide later to get the ntsc version of the game and get rid of the pal version will the save file i have on the wii still work for the ntsc version?
