I just got my original wiikey and clip and installed it today. (ordered pre sodered) I burned animal crossing city folk twice once with nero and once with imgburn. I put the game in and it shows up plays the song but when i click start all i get is a black screen, and nothing. It does this for both discs. You can hear the dvd still spinning but it won't load just hangs on that black screen. I am running my wii with the 3.4 firmware. So i burned a third disc and same problem. Any help appreciated!!

I ran into this very same issue. My guess is that you haven't updated your wii completely. This will supposedly fix the problem.

However, I didn't really want to update, since the latest updates disable many hacks I find useful. The way to get around this is to simply install the Homebrew Channel, and then Gecko OS. After you have done this, simply launch the game through Gecko OS, and away you go.

P.S. Let me know if this helped you.

another thing you might want to do is make sure the the .iso that you downloaded was a reliable source. you should be burning the disc at 4x write speed, and preferably on a Verbatim DVD-R disc. sorry, but this point the only thing wrong is the disc

As I pointed out above, that is quite incorrect.

The rest is valid however, but I would try the easiest thing first.

is there another way to get the homebrew in without me having to go out and spending money on zelda? all i read is that you have to play the game once and use the twilight hack to get homebrew installed. I got a different iso from a reliable download site i use all the time and burned it at 4x like i did with the others with a maxell dvd-r and the same deal went down with the diffrerent brand of dvds. soooo can anyone tell me if there is another way to get homebrew on my wii without using zelda? Shoud i also check to see if theres any updates for my wii its currently at 3.4 i also updated my modchip and set my reader on my wii at 3x and still no luck...

ACCF will only work with gecko OS and it has to be Scrubbed I had the first wiikey and I had to do that. If you dont want to redownload just scrub it your self and take the update out .

You can make an iso of the homebrew channel but it is to late you updated, you should have not updated at all stay at 3.2

ok well i guess i'll just got rent zelda if that's the only way i can do it. I didn't know about the updating stuff. I always wanted a wiikey but never really did any research into it till i went and bought one. If i had of known i 'd never have updated. theres a new update that came about today to and i never took it saying something about any unauthorized modding could render my wii bricked if i took it either way i wasn't going to. lol soo ok well thanks for all the help off to blockbuster i go!!
