WiiPower, hopefully when we incorporate PreLoader 0.26 which apparently solves the video issues

the issues with various other games should be fixed mate...

i do agree that GammA has best overall compat, but games which dont work through GammA our now working via Riiski, so its as broad as its long mate...i do believe tho that Riiski, or possibly SoftMii :-p will overtake the loaders...

im not interested in the mod itself as im chipped but the region free (language patch) if its done will be great as thats all i need so thought i would do you all a favour and gave Softmii a bump

Well i thought PreLoader 0.26 just does the same as SoftChip with disc settings, just use the video mode from the disc region. This will make most games playable, but a lot of people will get black&white playback with this. NTSC users with not PAL compatible tvs, and PAL users with rgb cables for example.

Anyway, could someone plz tell me if it is ok to turn on the WC24? Not the Standby Connection, just WC24 itself.
Will I have any kind of problems with updates and such?
Oh, and BTW: Good job. It's working fine on my PAL Wii and I love it! XD

Umm I am willing to bet if you had put none of the above keep it as RiiskiMod that RiiskiMod would win...

I mean SoftMii sounds like soft porn, Chip-Away sounds like so many others than that start with (blank)-Away... very unoriginal, Anti-Chip makes sense it is short... sounds a bit a like Anti-Christ though which depending on who you are you will like it or will not (and I actually did remove my chip for this).. and lastly u-mod... what is this the u2 channel, or how bout the U-Report on Fox, or U-whatever? U-mod.. seriously... these were the best suggestions you gather from this thread oo.... Honestly you don't need a big long Ultimate thing after U-mod either, we aren't selling Vista Ultimate Premium gas here..

For me it comes down to Antichip vs RiiskiMod and I would rather just stay with RiiskiMod. Also you could just called it R5 since it unlocks all regions (isn't there 5 regions, and the R4 for the DS was really popular so you can kind of play off that too).

I do not know if anyone has already answered this, but updating to 3.4 will not brink your wii, you will just have to downgrade it again to get back all the functionality. Some homebrew channels may work in 3.4 but most probably will not. And actually I going to test this stuff out now, because I am going to do this for some friends and I know one of them will screw it up so I better be prepared to know what to do.

look at the progress in just the last few days, i mean in the last month even, we've gone from CORP to Region free to custom systems nearly...

if only we could get into Boot2.... :-(

Hi guys, I've been out of the scene for a while...just updated SoftChip every now and then...

My situation is this:

- PAL Wii on 3.2E
- Twilight Hack and HBC
- Starfall with some functions installed
- The standard cIOS for using WiiGator's BL and SoftChip installed
- 3.3 fakeupgrade (can't remember the name), the one in djtaz's package
- Some wads installed but I don't think that's a problem

So, do I have to follow the guide as it is or do I have to make some different operations, like uninstalling Starfall?

Please don't make me brick my Wii

PS: the name SoftMii looks like the best so far, but what about....

100% agreed at the point of clean install/uninstall. At the language/video problem: This will never be fixed automaticly, I think. Because some NTSC Games want force to PAL, some not, etc...the only way to automate this, would be to make a Blacklist xlm-File, depending on the games name. (Ex. RGSE8P - Force PAL60 - VIDTV). I think the existing problems/compability for the Launchers are based on the cIOS, so a new, better one will catapultate the Loaders at the Top again...(they're still at the Top, look at my Poll...)

I do not know if anyone has already answered this, but updating to 3.4 will not brink your wii, you will just have to downgrade it again to get back all the functionality. I know I can downgrade from 3.4X, but I just don't want to do all that work again and again...
I just wanted to know if WiiConnect24 would 'auto-update' my Wii or something like that. I wanted to leave WC24 turned on to use some channels/function but I don't want to have to downgrade every few days.

personally i jus leave WiiConnect of unless i plan on playin online...

other than that, i have CNN and BBCNews24 if i wanna see news and no other channels interest me...

however am on 3.2 so i dont have these issues, howcome your posting in here if your on 3.4 i dont understand.

I'm on 3.2E with Riskii installed, and I was just wondering if WC24 would auto-update.
Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter all that much, so forget about it =P

if you get a email on your wii from nintendo jus delete it.

Hmm, a loader can scan the main.dol for video modes and look if the one you want is inside. Before you ask, i'm already considering to do this in SoftChip. And with the language it's the same.

About the compatibility:
I totally disagree with you. I didn't hear from any game not to work with cioscorp, so the cIOS is really great work. The lack of compatibility comes from games loading their IOS on their own(IOS Version patching games) and from missing information. The disc channel loads games a little different from the loaders, and some games can detect this(002 error games) and some require information only loaded by the disc channel(Sam & Max and FarCry).

Maybe MPlayer is just inside the pack? Like, Riiski with a 'extra' app to use in the HBC?
