Well I cannot say it *should* be like this because it's not good at all, but I guess we can say it's a bug of this version. It only happens if your window is too small. I will correct it in the next version.
I am sorry about that, since I run on a 19" monitor I didn't really take this into consideration
No worries, I have a 13.3-inch display running at 1280x800. I'm used to things looking strange =P

Anyhow, I must say, this is the only cross-platform rom manager that I've been pleased with, let alone willing to use since I first moved from Windows. I was an avid user of ndsCRC, but since I moved to Mac there hasn't really been anything that came anywhere near it. But that has changed now. Thank you very, very much for this application, and I hope that you continue to develop it until it reaches a new standard for rom managers!

Now, with that said, I have a small idea I'd like to express; whenever you go to the Rom Management menu item and select either Scan, Rename, Clean Up, etc etc, you get a small window namned, say, "Scan des roms" (seems like some localization was missed). This small window features three buttons; Scan, Hide, and Stop.

Now, my idea is the following: Instead of having lots of different menu items that all open a very similar window, why not take this window and let it have Scan, Rename, Clean Up, Compress, and Remove Duplicates buttons at the same time?

Mockup Example:

I've had more time to use this and I want to let you know I am loving it. Thanks Schyzophrenic!

Since you asked for suggestions here is one that I have. Rofage seems to create a few files such as gameDB, globalConf, and ADVANsCEne_NDScrc.xml. It has placed these files in my home folder. Would it be possible to have these files go into a .Rofage folder instead? Perhaps the ADVANsCEne Nintendo DS Collection folder that is created could go into it as well.

Thanks for your feedbacks Flagcarrier and gabesword !
Indeed your two ideas are quite interesting !
Nevertheless GabeSword, I do not have the issue you mention. Maybe that's because I create a script which first switch to the jar directory instead of running it with its full path. But the idea is still good
wink.gif

By the way, I currently think about what I should change or add to the application. Can you all give me your wishes so I'll try to add them ?
By the way, if you guys know how to do a safe trim on roms (NDS, PSP, GBA or/and others) could you please point me to the right direction ?

I contacted BrianTokyo but I had no answer...

If you also wish to localize the application in your own language it is quite easy to do it, so feel free to contact me if you wish to participate !

In the next release we have already added German thanks to IsSuE_ and I fixed the image problem you had flagcarrier

Feel free to ask what you wish (but it won't mean I accept everything

Tooltips would be greatly helpful, especially since there isn't any documentation for this application. For example, the floppies in the game list aren't very self-explanatory, and people might wonder what "C2FB5233" means when they're looking at Metroid Prime Hunters.

Secondly, how about an option to sort games into sub-folders? It would be very useful to be able to consolidate all games into folders sorted alphabetically, chronologically, by genre, by language and the like.

edit: I forgot to mention, I'm very willing to do a Swedish translation of your application = )

Hello Schyzophrenic, really good renamer´, i'm the datmaker at ADVANsCEne and to get the correct numbers you should use as releasenumbers from the dat then you get the correct numberings and demos as xxxx
smile.gif

and then maybe you can have a checkbutton to show or not show xxxx ROMs depending on what the user wants to collect
EDIT: "i see that you have a button for demos to show"

To Bri : Well, there is no such option as "Download only images for the roms I have", but you can choose to download images while browsing and filter the list to the games you have, so it's about the same.

I have no need for the entire database -- I just want to see information about the games I have. So for me it's a waste of disk space to download the whole database.

Well, I gave no news that's true
tongue.gif

You can always keep track of the project status/progress on the official site of the project (and see if I am working or not ^^).

The new version 1.3.2 contains the following items (cf the Changelog
wink.gif
) :
Added functionality : The release nb can now either be located in the comment field or the releaseNb field. The configuration must be deleted then read or the dat must be updated for this modification to take effect
Filtering has been updated accordingly
Added functionality : German language available
Added functionality : Compress roms while importing (if the "delete source files check box is not checked, original files will still be in the directory)
Added functionality : The release group is now showed in the rom info panel
Added functionality : Tooltips were added in the rom infos panel
Added functionality : Tooltips were added in the game list on icons

Bugfix : English is now the default language if no language file has been found (or a text is not translated)
Bugfix : (issue 12) images are now scrollable if they are too big
Bugfix : Some texts in some windows were not updated when we changed the language
Bugfix : The warning test if there is no configuration was not displayed properly on non english / french platforms.

I haven't packed a jar yet since there is nothing really *new* or important in this version. If you wish to have it you can either get the source files or ask me for a version
smile.gif

For Bri, now I understand your issue. Let me explain you how you can do that :
- You should filter the games and uncheck the "unowned" checkbox.
- Then, in configuration > Update, check the "Download while browsing"

With this, you will only see the games you have and it will download the images if needed.
Hope it helps.

I wanted to thank NDSFreak for his help and his work at Advanscene !

To FlagCarrier it would be great to have a swedish translation indeed, I haven't contacted you yet since the file may change again and I didn't want you to do the work 5 times
wink.gif

I still have some small additions to add in this version and I guess I will release it
tongue.gif

Thx again for your feedbacks !

Looking forward to the new version. Having the rom #'s match up to what is displayed on ADVANsCEne will be cool.

Thanks again Schyzophrenic.

That's good news NDSFreaks ! Do you think RoFage might interest people of Advanscene as well ? Should I post something overthere too ?

I try to keep RoFage compliant with OL dat files as much as I can and add some features (cool features by the way
wink.gif
) of NDScrc dat file. If people notice any bug with either the OL list version or the NDScrc version, please tell me so I can fix it !

This version can be download here

If you upgrade from a previous version, you may delete the /lib folder which is not required anymore.
