My son's Switch is super-banned and I want to get him one that isn't, that I can the run an emuNAND on and allow him to play online via OFW and boot into emuNAND for homebrew.

Looking at the available Switches on CEX, it seems it'll be hit or miss whether I get a patched one or not. So I'm wondering if there's any way of saying for sure that consoles that came in the following bundles pre-dated the patched units:

1) 32GB with Pokémon Let's Go (yellow Joy Cons)
2) 32GB with Super Smash Bros (grey SSB joy cons)
3) 32GB with Solid Red joy cons
4) 32GB with Diablo (grey joy cons)

Thanks

I believe the first two are patched and the second two have a possibility of being unpatched

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

If I'm not mistaken the first two are definitely patched and the last two have the possibility of not being patched, depending on the age.

I think its worth necro-ing so the info stays consolidated. I have a Diablo bundle switch and am able to boot into RCM, fusee on Linux(manjaro) detects the switch, and I am able to send a a payload, but the switch does not respond or react after sending the payload. Fusee acts as though it has "smashed the stack". It would be better if it said help things instead of trying to be humourous. My switch does nothing after the payload injection though.

To verify my attempt:

I formatted the SD card to fat32

I unzipped the hekate files to the root of my SD(root always means the highest folder/directory
Used a ghetto jig to short the pins, pressed Vol up and power

Screen does nothing: plug device into PC and fusee detects the device

I select the hekate_ctcaer_6.2.1.bin and send it to my device

Fusee says it "smashed the stack" but doesnt denote if any data was actually send so you cant see if the bin file was actually injected

Switch screen does nothing. No response and showing the hekate menu

I share this so anyone else that searches for Diablo bundle device knows, as it falls in the "might be patched" range and can be frustrating to figure out.

theres a site where you can look up the serial number to see if it is unpatched or not
The site is not up to date though and some serial number ranges are misreported on it leading people to assume false conclusios. The best and only place people should be looking up their serial number is this thread on GBATemp. Its where all of the serial number info originated from after all.

The premise of the thread is Bundles, most of which fall into the "May be patched" serial number range. Using the SN checker does nothing to help discern if it is patched. The OP and thread is trying to ascertain an additional data point to discern if Switches are patched.

Mario Odyssey bundle is hackable. I got one.

As a small hint: June 2018 was the magic month when Nintendo started shipping patched units. So every bundle prior to that date is unpatched and thus hackable.
