Hello guys,

I just recieved a ps5 that normalement only needed a software reinstall.
The issue is that it boots in safe mode and won't update.
When I try the Update option, i get su-101601-9 error code and it tells me to reinstall full software.
When i use the full reinstall package, i get an error su-101337-5, and it restants 2 times, same error, then shuts down.
I don't know what could be wrong as it's my 1st ps5, but I absolutely can't reinstall the software...
I already tried every option from safe mode, nothing changes.
Does anyone know what the issue could be?

Thanks by advance

From what I've seen recently everywhere,

for certain it was:
- the ssd controller
- the blueray player
Or
- The Bios chip

Have you tried reading UART to see if it gives error codes?

I returned the console to the seller finally... didn't want to take too much risks, it was too expensive to take hours on it to make it work.
Thanks however for your answer :D

Hello again guys !

I finally did not send it back to the guy that sold it to me, as it's in FW 4.50 and probably jailbreakable, i wanted to try everything to make it work.

I did an UART diagnose that returned no errors (error code FFFFFF - No error)...
I changed the bios of the console for a bios from a Digital PS5, to ensure the disk drive was not the issue; it didn't work.
It seems that everyhing is fine, but the console won't update, I don't get it... any expert on these products have an idea?

thanks by advance !

Can3Fix had a PS5 with the same Update error code (su-101337-5) and replaced the ssd controller to fix this problem.

Yeah I've already seen his video, the thing is i don't have any error codes that he has, so i'm not sure about reflowing a bga component without being sure it's the one causing the issue...

you can try the following: use a different usb drive, try both FAT 32 or EXFAT formats, use a different usb port.

I wouldn't reflow. I would change the ssd controller ic.
