So the fst file patch could be done even for the JAP version, isn't it? I wonder if either vv_ would be so kind to make it for us, or he would be a little bit more specific on how to edit fst.bin, so that someone else could do it.

Where did this relinked fst.bin come from? I can't find the source.
I've built it myself.
SleepyPrince has published the detailled structure of the fst files here : http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=78241

Thanks much for this fst.bin. Big thanks to you and Wiifriend for your work on your dvd5 rip projects.

Comments on the vv_ rip for those who haven't burned yet:

- There are a couple more videos present than wiifriend's. I haven't played long, but I have seen 4 so far:
-------title screen movie
-------sse intro clip
-------Samus in jumpsuit surrounded by two of her armored suits
-------brief clip introducing villain from sse mode. (He looks like a big bell.)
- Great choice of the Samus-in-skintight-outfit video for the frequently re-used video.
wink.gif

- It feels like it may load faster on my wii than my prev burn of wiifriend's 1.0 rip. The 'loading' before the title screen isn't onscreen as long.

---------------

Also, within an hour I will be uploading a new xdelta patch to patch your wiizard dvd9 iso to a dvd5 using vv_'s new fst.bin.

this patch is better than the ssbb_U__dvd5_patch? and 100% working on dvd5?
smile.gif

The old 'sbb_U__dvd5_patch' was from wiifriend's 1.0 tutorial and has the 'green screen at end of sse' error, so definitely don't use that. It still needs the sora_ending file replaced (wiifriend's 1.1 tutorial), that's why the green screen error.

People here have had only good results with vv_'s fst.bin (which is what this 2.0 xdelta patch uses). Is it "better" than Wiifriend's rip method? That's up to you to determine.

It does seem to have more videos intact and load faster for me.

It is 100% working with dvd5. See the readme for my full setup: ntsc wii, wiikey 1.9g.

Yah, a PPF patch would be GREATLY appreciated!

seriously? is it really that hard to follow instructions?

1. scrubb the DVD9 iso
2. open scrubbed iso in trucha (DVD5)
3. replace fst.bin from 2nd partition with the modified fst.bin provided by "vv"
4. do other modifications
5. trucha sign

instead of wasting time waiting for someone to make a PPF patch for you, you could be putting that time to good use by actually following those instructions originally posted a couple pages back.

i guarantee doing all that is faster than waiting for someone making a patch for you. and plus you'll gain experience with using trucha signer...

Hardest part with Trucha was obtaining the key.bin. It is probably available more widely now than when it was first out. But I agree, it is replacing one file rather than the 120+ with the old method which quite a few things could go wrong.

well yeah, but even in terms of that....there's probably members of this forum nice enough to even provide key.bin to other members via PMs and such.

anyway, i myself haven't tried out the fst.bin modification but the procedure honestly isn't that hard to follow...and this is coming from someone who's only started looking into the whole trucha/wiiscrubber applications also.

Patch your wiizard dvd9 to a dvd5 containing vv_'s relinked fst.bin:

http://rapidshare.com/files/99508543/ssbb_...ch_2.0.rar.html

This patch is made using xdelta (included) and is 1.5mb. That is tiny. Spread the word about it for iso patching.

I tried the vv_'s method and ( error screen text green ) at the first demo or mario use the pump has waters with browser....i tried on two dvd and error

thanks for the next patch vv_'s

Can you explain in more detail? By 'demo' - do you mean the VC demo games? Those were removed by flattening to a DVD5, I believe.

Testing this now. People reported FLUDD (water pump) crashing in the main DL thread. They were able to quickly test for it by using FLUDD in the controls screen. It may have been a media (DVDR brand) problem, but I can't remember...

I did NOT have a crash at this point.

EDIT: Classic mode, battled Link with Mario. Used FLUDD a lot. No crash yet. I don't understand what you mean by "mario use the pump has waters with browser". Is that a certain part of the Subspace Emissary?

EDIT2: Look here for more info on this problem. Some people see this on both the DVD5 and DVD9 isos. They say it is a bad burn or to use 60hz (for PAL wiis).

Is key.bin unique to each game?

I'm trying wiitools v .2 and can't seem to get the key.bin. I've read this whole post and scrubber posts and can't figure out how to do it...

I hate to ask, but can someone PM me the key.bin or instructions on how to obtain it with wiitools.

I see what you mean now. This appears to be a video that is not relinked. It does this in wiifriend's and in vv_'s dvd5 rips.

To replicate this, go to DATA / MOVIES choose the "How to Play Game" (or as dydy reported, let the game sit at the title screen and it will loop various movies and gameplay. This one will come up in about 4min)

The "How to Play Game" movie shows "You can play 4 ways" and then "If you fly offscreen, you lose a life". After a minute or so, the green error text appears "An error has occurred."

This doesnt affect gameplay though, just don't let it sit at the title screen and don't select the "How to Play" movie
