R4i Gold Plus on v16

Does anyone have a download link to firmware that actually works on v16 for 2DS with the r4i gold plus?

Unfortunately my DS updated to v16 and a once working card now displays only a white screen on boot.

r43ds.org claims to have updated the firmware in March 2023 but when downloaded and unpacked the contents seem to be still from 2013..

Below is the very newest firmware for the R4i Gold 3DS Plus card. It has the latest updates and is a custom version of the Wood R4 Firmware, often said to be the very best r4i gold card firmware for compatibility, functions, homebrew support and development.

Is there any other workaround other than rolling back the NDS firmware to v15?

Does it display something if you boot flashcard without microSD in it?

Unfortunately not just the flash cart icon with the text above it ‘Konami Digital Entertainment’

And then once clicked on the message appears:
An error has occurred.
Press and hold the POWER Button to turn the system off.
Please refer to the Operations
Manual for details.

This happens with or without the SD card inserted.

That's the error of your DS itself, not the flashcard. You have DSi/3DS I believe. That error means that your flashcard is in a blacklist and DS won't launch it in any case regardless of which firmware would be on it. You need to jailbreak your DSi/3DS to remove the blacklist and make flashcard bootable again.

Show photos of both sides of the cart. Good photos. You can also show photos of the printed circuit board.
Real R4i Gold 3DS Plus (from r4ids.cn, which kernel you are trying to run on your cart) has no problems with blacklists.

By the way, is this a recent purchase?
This cart (real R4i Gold 3DS Plus from r4ids.cn) has been out of production for several years.
But not so long ago on Aliexpress (and not only) a batch of defective carts was on sale.
Only the "N" mode (NTRboot loader) worked there. And the "D" mode, i.e. "normal flashcard" mode - didn't work. That's why they were defective.
This was actually stated in the product description tho, but anyway. Who after all reads descriptions nowadays.

Thanks please see front and back image attached of flashcard. Not a recent purchase at least 3-4 years old now. Ran well for years on v11.15 but when the NDS updated to v11.16 it stopped working.
