Initially I used the cmd-K and entered the FTP address of the Switch and the Finder window opened, but unfortunately the dread stop sign stopped me transferring stuff over (no explanation).
I've found a version of Commander One that works on my old Mac (still running El Capitan) and got to the same point, except for one extra piece of the puzzle; the SD card is, apparently, "read only". I'd guess it's a permissions issue. This isn't an issue if I plug the SD card in via USB; then, I can copy stuff over no problem.
That thread begins being about using the command line via Terminal and one of the replies says the answer should be to use an FTP client.
EDIT: That reply mentioned Cyberduck and I managed to find an old El Capitan-friendly version of it here: https://cyberduck.io/changelog/ (v8.0.2) and it did the job! Odd that Commander One was unable to.

I have both V1 and V2 and can run some tests. Wait. Are you installing the official version from Ninty servers? I might could do a face off of a “backup“ game install. Not sure I want to buy two copies of official Fortnite just to test though…
Yeah, downloaded from the official servers, both consoles download the updates at the same speed, its when they do the installation that there is a difference.
There was an update yesterday so I compared them again, I started the v1 install when the v2 was at 80% and the v1 finished just 5 seconds after the v2!!
Fortnite is a free game, you Dont have to buy it, its a 'pay to look pretty' game as well, no need to spend a penny to be competitive

Both V1 and V2 entered the eshop at approximately 6:47PM Jesus Time (which is Central US time for all you heathens…it’s where god himself placed Texas and it was good.)
Your humble announcer just noticed that I use different accounts for each Switch. I hope Nintendo doesn’t go by alphabetical order since the V2 account is [email protected] and the V1 is [email protected].
Both switches press Search at almost the same time but V2 jumps the gun by a fraction of a second and comes back with the results first as expected. Why am I coordinating the searches? I honestly don’t know. It felt like the right thing to do at the time but in retrospect I feel a little silly.
After confirming that Fortnite was in fact a free download both contestants panicked when they realized Fortnite is 19G! It‘s going to be a long and boring race folks. Hold on to your butts!
Both batteries are checked…100% full. Wifi signal is good for both since they are within testicle shriveling distance of 5 feet from the eepro 6+ (all my Q peeps know the plus is code for 5G!) full disclaimer the V1 is in an aluminum shell so the wifi is one bar less than the V2…you have to be willing to sacrifice a little for beauty folks.
A gun fires and the cacophony of the sound of simultaneous (A) buttons pressing fills the air. They’re off! A woman’s scream is heard in the distance. The official time of the starters gun was 6:50 Jesus Time. The intensity is palpable folks! It’s neck and neck down the first hill.
I just realized the woman screaming was real. My wife wants to know why I’m in the living room in my underwear shooting the pellet gun in the house. Women…no sense of adventure I tell ya. Will be right back with some sweat pants.
In the mean time here are some action shots to tide you over during the intermissio!
V1
V2

In with your half time report (and some cozy sweats!)
V1 in the top lane is at the beginning of the N in Fortnite while V2 in the bottom lane is past the middle of the N.
(Starting to wonder if this aluminum shell is holding me back or if it’s just V1 being a bit slower on the WiFi.)
Wife says even though I’m wearing pants I’m still sleeping on the couch “because weirdo.”

Sorry, I dozed off for a bit.
Coming down the home stretch!
I turned the LEDs on for the V1. I hope it doesn’t skew the results too much with the added coefficient of drag and all. Might run more tests later.
V2 is still in the lead. Looks like we’re going to have to do a split clock folks!

8:51 on the nose folks!
V2 downloads and installs first and snatches the win from V1’s confident hands! The crowd goes mild! I don’t know if I’m ludicrous or ecstatic!
V1 finally crosses the finish line at 8:58! What a miserable finish for the old guy!
I don’t know about you guys but I’m moist with excitement! What a day, what a race, what a finish.
The final results are:
19G (or 19456M) starting at 6:59 and taking until
V2 - 8:51 (112 minutes or 6720 seconds) 2.9MB/s
V1 - 8:58 (119 minutes or 7140 seconds) 2.7MB/s
I’d say these are statistically almost the same.
Although I was mere feet from my wireless router I didn’t control other variables such as my Wife watching RHOBH or my horny teenager watching…whatever he watches back there. It could be the metal shell around my V1 or the age of the machine vs the V2 or it could have just been the luck of the draw.
*if somebody wants to check my shady math have at it…these numbers are approximate and just for fun anyway.

im planning on installing OFW 14.1.2. 15.x.x has some of the homebrew not work so im sticking with 14.1.2
can i install AMS 1.4.1 or do i need specific atmosphere version
there was like a thread that bundles the hekate atmosphere and sigpatch in one zip file but it only contains the latest one. is it safe to use this or should i stick with a sigpatch for my specific version?

You should always upgrade AMS first because it is backward compatible with recent FW versions so your scenario above of AMS 1.4.1 on FW 14.1.2 will work without any issues.
That said, I personally did a test of a whole bunch of homebrew when 15.0.0 was released and found nothing broken. If you have some examples please let me know and I will test them to confirm.

I mean if battery life wasn't already enough and having the Oled choice ppl keep getting stuff to show that V1 even sucks further
Ps: nice story haha! (My gf just a few hours ago said I prefer Xbox friends when I don't even own a Xbox, only the controller but was indeed on PC playing <<Xbox>> ).
I am looking to go online to play some games. I have updated to EMMNAND partition, I also restored my saved stock NAND in case anything got corrupted while using old setup. Current stock is at 4.1.0 and EMMNand is at 15.0.1 and i am using current Atmosphere and Hekate. How should i update the stock firmware to play online, do i update from Nintendo Servers or do it manually with other software? Will updating my stock firmware not allow me to go back to saved NAND backup of 4.1.0? Or should i do a different setup to play online?

Best way to update your 100% clean FW on Sysnand is via Ninty‘s servers. This will burn fuses and you won’t be able to go back to 4.1.0. You can avoid burning fuses by booting into stock via Hekate. Once fuses are burned you cannot go back w/o first launching Hekate (which defeats the reason you are wanting to roll back…in case a cold boot is released in the future.) There’s always the chance you might forget and boot straight into stock w/o Hekate and burn your fuses. This is the reason behind AutoRCM which “corrupts” the bootloader and prevents direct booting into Stock.
My switch sysnand firmware is 5.0.1 and emunand is 15.0.0.
I played games just fine until yesterday, my switch got banned.
So I plan to use sysnand to play game offline.
Can I just update my sysnand from 5.0.1 to 15.0.1 through system update?
Or should I use Daybreak to install the update on sysnand?
Or which way should be more proper way to update sysnand?

If you are already for sure banned, then you may as well just update the official way through Nintendy, and get rid of your Emunand as you won't need it anymore. Just run on (banned) Sysnand from here on out. Just my opinion tho. Same happened to me.

Thanks, I reformat all data as new switch (after exported save data already) then updated sysnand through nindy system update to 15.0.1 and Atmosphere 1.4.1 still works just fine.
Then I do factory reset on 15.0.1.
I installed some backups via DBI MTP and able to play normally.

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
