This was all discussed in the gamefaqs topic.

Albeit, there was an official announcement, so this may be real.

Lovely.
Next thing we'll be seeing, World of Warcraft on your portable gaming system... Then nobody would ever have an excuse to actually "have a life".

Ragnarok was the shiz when i played back in the day. My assassin kicked ass because some mod went nuts on a private server and dropped all the elite stuff only mods get and i could pretty much kill anything by myself.

anyone here acutally ragnarok vets? like alpha and beta? ^^;;

That would be me, I started in Alpha and played on and off since then between many official and private servers. The best days I had in RO would be iRO Beta 2, my love for the game slowly faded away after that. RO on the DS sounds like it could be fun, but I only play online within my own house so it would kind of defeat the point; as I could just play the game on my PC.

There was some homebrew development for RO on DS but textures didn't show up. There was a Youtube video but I haven't heard anything about it since.

lol those are some craptastic screenshots... the HUD on the bottom screen is so tiny (those little boxes) for those who have played RO before know that it would be beyond belief to read anything contained in that microscopic area even if the screen was that big in comparison to the top one hahahahahahahha...maybe if it was the size of a psp screen it might stand a chance....but hahahahahahahaha

I also started with RO Alpha years ago

It was so great, but I was all alone.
Then all my friend tried it, and they were always better than me (they were like nolife), so I had bad characters and loose the will to play with times as I wasn't playing but only trying to follow them.
I tried some new classes on my own server (nobody else on it, only me).
I played every days for about 2 years, then tried EuRo a little, but it wasn't the same. more like GRo where nobody talked but in german. it was like a dead game where nobody were talking, it looked like a bot game.

I tried it again one year later, but the mood wasn't there anymore.

Ro is still a great memory for me

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, my PC can't run most AAA games so i wont

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

@SylverReZ, i think they have been doing that since late 2000s

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
