in response to this topic, I have created the following guide detailing how to disassemble your ds lite system.

it should come in handy for those wishing to change out the SMDs (surface mounted diodes [LEDs]), clean out dust or for those just curious about your ds lite's inner workings.

http://www.phosphors.com/nds/

if you find something wrong, or if there's anything else you people would like me to add to it, feel free to let me know

I know that taking this invalidates your warranty, but how can they tell (besides the fact that you have strange color LEDs in your DS Lite

')?

Is there some equivalent to a warranty seal or something on the DS Lite?

Thanks for the answer.

There's no screw under the serial number, however.
In fact, if you remove the GBA slot cover and look inside, you can see where the serial number sticker sits on the case and that there's nothing under it.

I've taken apart my DS Lite by now and didn't notice anything that would invalidate your warranty, such as seals or stickers.

oh.. and don't force those cables.

the connectors have a part of them flip up to relieve the tention on the cable, it will then slip in and out with ease.

I want to say the black part is the part that flips up. just using your fingernail, try to flip it up, it shouldn't take to much pressure

Wow, thanks for this. Been thinking of buying one of those hot and sexy Shock cases for DS and replacing the old boring black case my DS has... :/

Might I add -make sure you line up the internal power switch with the plastic switch part!! The plastic one will clip off the internal one if you don't line them up! Likewise with the volume.
