Now the how to get homebrew running thread:

should be eventually replaced by a new one using bannerbomb.

How about a sticky thread in which a good guide is searched until the new one is found? The hope to get a thread stickied might motivate someone to write a really good guide.

but i thought I'd just do it myself.

Not a bad idea there, I might take it up if i don't get the time to make my own.
