A PS4 build of Horizon Forbidden West has reportedly leaked a month prior to launch

The latest PlayStation exclusive, Horizon Forbidden West, is due out soon, with a planned launch of February 18, 2022. But even though that release date is over a month away, images have been cropping up online of someone playing the PlayStation 4 version of the game. A post on Reddit had a few screenshots collected in a post titled, "Horizon Forbidden West images leaked (PS4 version, jailbreak related)". Posts on Twitter claimed that the footage came from a hacked console, running a leaked version of the game, and within hours, the pictures had been removed "in response to a report from the copyright holder".

Media outlet Video Games Chronicle added to the rumors and curiosity by stating that their sources say the game has leaked, and the one shown in pictures is a near-complete build of the game, only missing what appears to be a handful of art assets. Right now, it doesn't look like the leaked game package is available to download, however that may change, given that there are some people out there playing the game already. Sony has seen this sort of situation unravel before, with The Last of Us Part II's story footage being uploaded online a month ahead of its highly anticipated release.

thanks. just bought it for the cheapest I could find, which was around $11, new.
It's a nice game with pretty graphics. I hope you enjoy it. Sometimes it feels a bit FarCry3-formulaic but I guess many open world games do. I enjoyed it back in the day. Loading times are not as bad as Witcher 3 but I remember they got in my nerves some times.

I hope you enjoy it.

Oh? It'll be for the PS4 as well? I just assumed it was a PS5 only game :o
I'm a happy Issac now, looking forward to this sometime in the future 😁

I lost interest after 10 minutes of playing the first one. The idea is cool, but the game felt repetitive and got bored of it quickly.

I’m playing It Takes Two and the game is epic!
Well, different people different taste.
I like it takes two TBH and I was trying to play it with a friend, but he found the game frustrating and a waste of time for some reason and we had to stop playing after the queen bee boss. He didn't like it takes two very much.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
