New patch notes explain what will be in the Pokemon Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl day 1 update

pokemon-brilliant-diamond-shining-pearl-battle.jpg

As previously noted in yesterday's thread, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shinning Pearl are due to get a day 1 update, and a major one, at that. After remaining a mystery for a short while, the official Pokemon website has detailed what exactly version 1.1.0 will bring to the table. It'll be adding online and local multiplayer for the Super Contests, Union Room, and Grand Underground, post-game content including the new Ramanas Park, and the addition of cutscenes, which means there will now be a title screen and credits animation.

The 1.1.0 patch will be available tomorrow, on November 11th, prior to the release of the game, meaning those with early copies may still be able to experience the full game before the November 19th launch date.

That won't be the only content update, either. There will be yet another patch slated sometime after the launch of the game as well. The only things we currently know about that update is that it will allow for more than two players at once in the Union Room, access to the GWS, and a Pokemon Center Colosseum.

  • Addition of Grand Underground, Super Contest Show, Union Room and Mystery Gift communication features
You will be able to enjoy local and online communication features of the Grand Underground, Super Contest Show and Union Room. Additionally, you will also become able to receive gifts using the Mystery Gift feature.
  • Addition of content after entering the Hall of Fame
Some content that becomes playable after entering the Hall of Fame, including Ramanas Park, will be added in the update.
    • Note: even if you have already entered the Hall of Fame before downloading the update, downloading it will allow you to play the additional content.
  • Addition of some in-game cutscenes and animations
Some in-game cutscenes and animations will be added in the update, including the game’s ending cutscene and the title screen animation that is played when opening the software.
    • Note: you can view the title screen animation by starting up the software with existing save data and with the update installed. Even if you have already entered the Hall of Fame before the update is installed, you can view the ending cutscene by entering the Hall of Fame again afterwards.
  • Other adjustments and corrections were made to improve the gameplay experience.
  • Regarding a planned update after release
On the release date for the software, up to two players will be able to interact in local and online play in the Union Room, and you will be able to select the “Battle”, “Trade” and “Mix Records” functions. In an update that will be made available after the software releases, the maximum number of players will be increased, and the “Greeting” and “Capsule Decoration” functions will become available.
Additionally, trading using the GWS in Jubilife City and the use of the Colosseum feature inside Pokémon Centers will also be added in a post-release update.

so, no pokémon except for the 490-ish from 4th gen? disappointing is an understatement

also, what's wrong with the music in these remakes? sinnoh music is the best in the series IMO, I hope they didn't butcher it.

what were you expecting? not even sword and shield has all the pokemons and for sure legends arceus wont either, why would a remake not even made by gf have all the pokemons?

from now on no game will have all the pokemons, you can expect like 500 max per game including new ones from now on.

Gen 5 also had different versions of certain themes based on the season. It was truly the highpoint of the franchise in terms of how much effort they put into these games
i disagree, gen 2 was obviously the high point with 2 regions, and the tiny size of gbc cartridges, they had to do some massive effort to do that imo.

for me it still stands as the best post content generation ever, we will never get another like this unless they remake gen 2 again, now they barely finish one map let alone do 2 if ever lol.

i mean that is cool but the main game suffered because of it and B2W2 has an huge amount of post game content too. You can even link it to the first game to get fights against cherem and bianca and their teams will actually reflect what starters they picked a game ago. Then there is also challenge mode which makes fights a tough enough to not be a complete snoozefest while also buffing everyones levels and pokemon amount. And then there is also an achievement system so now those stupid "all water type, Elite 4" challenge runs are actually part of the game now. Not to mention Pokewood which can give your pokemon a unique battle entrance animation. Aforementioned seasons, Pokemon feeling more alive than before with the new battle animations, The world Cup allowing you to re-battle every Gym leader and Champion from every previous generation. I could gush about Gen5 for hours.

Don't get me wrong Gold and silver are great games but i think Gen 5 easily wins for being the highpoint of the franchise.

you forget how much gen 2 added to the franchise
gen2 added
-weather effects
-entry hazards
-day/night cycle
-day of the week events
-hold items
-breeding/egg moves
-2 new typing's(dark/steel)
-first battle tower (pokemon crystal)

it has the generation that most added to the franchise imo, heck gen3 removed many of this features like day night, day of the week stuff which was then brought back in latter games.

Also i think this is the only game where there is a true final boss imo, you get the winner of the first game as a final boss after beating pokemon league twice, its the perfect ending imo, also pokemon league trainers get stronger and different pokemon on the second run which was also the first time this was made.

Nintendo really out here providing support for pirates so they don't post negative impressions of the game.

I was wondering why the music seemed so quiet and muffled and lacking. And that titlescreen is pathetic. R.I.P. cartridge owners on Nov 19th, you're getting an incomplete game. (Me included.)

I do not forget that it's just that a lot of the stuff you mentioned isn't content, it's just mechanics. When I think of stuff that makes Pokemon Silver/Gold/Crystal for me I don't think "Hell yeah, Shiny Pokemon!" I think "Mt. Silver, the Radio feature, The Music, exploring Kanto after the time skip, exploring caves with Legendaries at the end, Team Rocket's plot to find Giovanni". Again Gold/Silver/Crystal are great games i just don't think that's where the franchise peaked (and a lot of its success is just thanks to Iwata being a chad instead of Gamefreaks efforts).

Pokemon B2W2 also had a Final Boss with a fight against N who has a full level 80 Team if you're on challenge mode. He even had a different team based on Seasons so re-fighting him was always a fresh challenge (well, at least the first 4 times).

Where's the Exp Share Toggle Option in the patch notes?
Are they really catering to no attention span zoomers? Has humanity really regressed itself?
Also an option to remove that disgusting helmet on bike mode? Yup, humanity has regressed; 1st it's the Casino removal (as least this is understandable) and now it's adding a fucking helmet to the bike when 70% of the NPC on the Cycling Road doesn't wear one!

The game out of the box is pretty much unfinished, with no title screen and placeholder music for example.

The day one patch is 3GB, so even that technically it do not require internet to play, in reality it does.

Also, it seems that they are delivering a rushed game again, we will know if it is the case soon enough.

Anyway, the thing is already downloading on my alternative store, apart of download links, fell free to ask me anything if you can't download the game yourself by now.
ILCA is known for rushed games?

Doesn't matter anyways, the game is janky as hell. Can walk in any directions yet the game works off a grid system. You can get blocked by the tip of a rock if you move using Analog Stick.
