Elden Ring now has an official gameplay reveal trailer and a release date

After a two-year-long wait since the game's initial reveal, today marks a milestone in the development of From Software's Elden Ring. The game finally received a gameplay trailer, giving excited fans the chance to have their first look at Elden Ring's gameplay, as well as its story elements, bosses, and overall visuals. As you may remember from the E3 2019 announcement, this project is a partnership between Dark Souls developer FromSoft and A Song of Ice and Fire writer George R.R. Martin. Not only was the gameplay properly shown, but Elden Ring also confirmed its release date, which is set for January 21nd, 2022.

Why it looks like an ps3 game?
Because it's captured from a live stream...and also it's a 1080p Youtube video (which translates to sub-720p in practice). A 4K trailer would definitely be nice.

On another note, I seriously wasn't expecting this game to release for at least two more years. January is a very pleasant surprise.

When I was writing down all the things happening live, I saw Jan 21, nodded, went to write it in the thread, checked back, saw 2022, and I was shocked. I genuinely was moreso expecting Jan 21, 2023 than this honestly.

Not too surprising on the release date assuming they started development way before the E3 2019 announcement.

In any case, the game looks great.

What special PS3 did you have? Even with the YouTube compression, it looks absolutely NOTHING like a PS3 game.

I'm not sure why @Chary keeps using the 1080p versions in articles. :P
