The forums do not allow us to delete thread posts. Why should we be able to? To prevent necrobumping. If we accidentally necrobump we can delete posts in case anything happens. Or if we said something we shouldn't have said we could use the delete feature for that too

Let me read that. Ok, so Tom Bambalido if that was his name stated that it causes misinformation and abuse. however, why can't they have the reason for deletion as they do for profile posts to make sure no one abuses the system
Have you tried reading the rest of the thread, it goes into more detail than that.

But I'll throw in my own opinion as well,
Profile posts and blogs are a low stress personal environment, they are not the kind of "high stakes" forum posts that would be capable of causing this kind of trouble. Deleting a forum post is vastly different to deleting a profile post in the kind of problems it can cause.

I don't think we have enough mods to review every single "reason for deletion" and even if we did, their whole day would likely just be spent reviewing hundreds of reasons for deletion from hundreds of posts and that's a massive pain in the ass.

Well, I kinda agree but I also believe that accidental necrobumping can happen as for example, I thought a forum said 2021 when it said 2020.

Yeah it is a pain in the ass but accidents happen and there should be a system, like a program that detects the reasons

Then report it. Moderators are there to do that kind of thing for you.

In a situation like this I would edit the post to mention I accidentally necrobumped the thread and if it was serious enough I would leave a friendly report for the moderators asking them to clean it up.

Tom explains it better than I:
As for mod workload, it's not like it's some huge undertaking to delete a post for them, it's literally two clicks. That's what mods are there for, moderating posts.
