How so? What about like, Pokemon games (Leveling up pokemon), Breath of the Wild (Trial of the sword (very good reward for that one)), and Splatoon 2 (New weapons)? Am I missing something? Are you saying they can't go back because they won't go back?Yes, but I don't think they can go back because the new Nintendo games don't reward effort. What i mean is that you don't get anything worth the effort.
You know, I honestly consider Sticker star a separate game. Fun, but not Paper Mario. Color Splash was trash and so was the origami king. Everything after Super (which I actually thought was cool) was trash (not including sticker star cause I think it's fun, just not Paper Mario). I'm honestly curious to see what person pick noDude I would kill for another, imo TTYD improved on the og in every way, I'd love to see another exhibition of their style
Even if it's just TTYD 2: Luigi in the Waffle Kingdom, they've literally already got plot details worked out for them that they could build a game around

Agree! I love sticker star, although it's pretty unplayable without a walkthrough because of arbitrary things you need (like the shears to get past thwomp in the final battle), the battle system was super fun and I would love to see it become a separate series it could be mostly nostalgic but I thought it was really atmospheric, and gosh the music was amazing. You know, I honestly consider Sticker star a separate game. Never really like Color splash because you would have to look at the gamepad and the screen again and again. It got really annoying and the games wasn't specialMy take:
Paper Mario was amazing
TTYD did Paper Mario but better
Super Paper Mario was cute and fun, not really a Paper Mario game but still very enjoyable
Sticker Star, while not a terrible idea, is a disgrace to the series. It's enjoyable but it's not what a veteran of the series wanted at all
Color Splash was Sticker Star but better, but not better enough to be willing to replace the classic battle formula
Origami King is something I haven't played and can't fairly judge but I've a friend that says it's enjoyable but the battles are mundane, and I'll take his word on it

ExactlyOh yeah, I forgot about that final battle
Every phase had some random gimmick you could counter with some misc. item you'd find in the world and, from a new player's perspective, that's pretty unfair
Yeah, that part sucked but despite all that I really enjoyed the sticker system. Finding rare and unique stickers to do attacks just once was REALLY fun and rewarding. I enjoyed the stickers a lot.Oh yeah, I forgot about that final battle

Is the list by worst to best or best to worstwell I played paper mario in a weird order.
wii -> 3ds -> wii u -> n64 -> gc -> switch
I didn't like wii, 3ds was fine, wii u was great, I had high regards for n64 and gc. but after playing them, they weren't that much different to me, I think some parts aged badly or are just overlooked like the horrible backtracking in gc version. I also liked switch version. so I'm fine if they keep going that way.
my list:
n64 > switch > wii u > gc > 3ds > wii
Oh man really? I loved Super Paper Mario (the Wii title) It had a great story and was really challenging and unique, the level up system was really fun too even though it was just basic points for killing enemies.well I played paper mario in a weird order.

The storyline is as solid if not more so than the originals, which is something people complain about (rightfully so) about the new gamesI know! Everyone pretends it's not a classic Paper Mario
