A semi-playable third-person mod for Cyberpunk 2077 has been released

Where CD Projekt Red's previous game, The Witcher, 3 had you play as Geralt from a third-person perspective, the developers changed things up with Cyberpunk 2077, making it take place in first-person. Some weren't entirely pleased by that choice, however, and one modder has taken it upon themselves to add over-the-shoulder camera modes to Cyberpunk 2077. Created by a person under the name of Jelle Bakker, the "TPP Mod WIP Third Person" mod adds four adjustable camera angles to the game, letting you see your character as you play. As the name implies, the mod is very much a WIP, because while it does let you play in third-person, it comes with its fair share of glitches, anywhere from not animating at all if you try to swim, or your character model having a few issues with using weapons. If you're interested in trying it out, you can grab it on NexusMods.

Never used raytracing and the game crashed on me multiple times. Beat the entire game sidequests and all and saw glitches like bike crashes causing me to fly above skyscrapers, quest objectives not updating, invisible guns/objects, V becoming naked in "The Star" ending because of a glitch when the jacket gets equipped and more.
that's weird.... are you on SSD or HDD? how many RAM do you have? what's ur PC setup?

I used an i7-7700k with a GTX 1080 and 16gb of RAM. I use Intel Optane in combination with my HDD so it's faster than an HDD but a bit slower than an SSD. I have a buddy who plays this on his SSD that has similar issues. The game has issues.

Ur HW is certainly better than my, so far 6700k+1070 and the game runs fine, probably I recently upgraded from SSD to NVme SSD, which eliminated almost completely the loading times.
Nowdays, HDD 's low read speed acts as Bottle neck for modern gaming pc, also you shall go to BIOS and set CPU voltage manually(default one is AUTO) to stock value which prevents game from stuttering.

....but if you are on console, sorry man, this game is NOT designed to be played on obsolete HW.

LOL! Yes it was. In fact when the first started coding for it in 2016, not only were those "obsolete" consoles the only consoles they were programming for (and thus absolutely the target platform), but there were no RTX cards in existence and the Intel Core i7-6700K was the high-end CPU!

You just keep on making excuses for this severely flawed game, okay? The devs appreciate it and need it. You don't have to spend much time on Youtube watching it played on an i9-10700k with RTX 3090 to see all the insane graphical glitches that plague the PC release. Sure the console version NEVER should have been released in this state, but the PC version is still beta too. What an absolutely unforgiveable embarrassment for CD Projekt Red! Glad they are being sued. They deserve it.

... I honestly believe if every Gamer intent on paying for hardware upgrades just to play this flaming dump sent their upgrade money to the Developer, collectively, those lazy people would be compensated enough to make an optimised version of this game that'll run on PlayStation 4, its generation and everything above.

Might even be a plausible Kickstarter campaign, working title, "Fund us to do this correctly, like we promised."

Edit:
I might have hit on the next Gaming Business Model, after DLCs.

The Current-Generation Compatible version, otherwise known as How to Actually Make Games 101.
My sincerest apologies to future Gamers.

I figure that some people like 3rd person but why Cyberpunk? It's a shooter, why would you torture yourself with third person shooting?
Well, even if you don't like 3rd person shooters, this modder (or even the devs themselves) can have an option to be only 1st person while shooting. I doesn't have to be an one or the other thing.

I think at this point if you're gonna make a GTA kind of game, then you better go all out on the latest and greatest features the actual GTA series has seen, including offering the choice of both 1st and 3rd person views. Of course, that's all in the event your game is as polished as GTA V is and ready to be played with little to no issue in one of the viewpoints, cuz if one of them is still a buggy mess, I can only imagine how having an alternate view option might also cause additional issues.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Third person camera now on GTA feels outdated and unnatural compared to first person view.

The PS3 version truly was a beta version of GTA V, and yet, there are still people playing it online/offline. Heck, just yesterday I played a 1 v 1 match with my nephew, the little shit won almost always (I honestly don't play GTA V so there's that). It was fun despite the dated graphics.

I don't think third person view is outdated, nor do I think it ever will be. It's just a different way to enjoy the spectacle in front of you, I totally understand how people feel more into a game if they can actually see the character they're playing as at all times. I think it's totally about personal preference, and any dev that does a good job at implementing both into the same title as optional views you can toggle between is doing a great job to captivate as many players as possible.

It might run flawlessly, but you still paid full price for an incomplete game.
A game isn't incomplete just because it has bugs. CP2077 can be played through start to finish, all the endings are available. The 8MB limit on save files was the one serious barrier to that, and it was quickly patched.

The current state of the game? That's another matter. But it certainly isn't missing any content, some people have already put in over a hundred hours and still haven't gotten close to finishing 100% of side quests.

YEP, the game runs greatly on my PC mustard race.

Almost flawlessly, since 8mb save got fixed by update 1.06.
I'm playing on PS4 pro, only few graphics glitches almost unnoticeable, had 3 crashes and 1 stuck in loading screen in my 80 hours of gameplay.

Lookie here, the man with the one and only perfect copy of the game!
You will be surprised by the amount of people who got run smoothly, the rest just played it for 1 hour and already start complaining after their first crash.

I dunno, I'd call a game loaded with bugs, even if beatable, to still be incomplete.

Imagine if we let such things side elsewhere "This car is entirely capable to get you from point A to point B, but you almost certainly will experience irregularities with the vehicle along the way: weird noises, pulls to the left for no reason, blinkers turning on out of nowhere, windshield wipers working half of the time, etc etc. All these issues may get in the way of your driving experience, but the car can still transport you regardless. So we can consider this car safe and complete." Yeah, no thanks, that car may work, but i would never feel safe in it until those issues are worked out and as such I wouldn't consider it "complete" at all.

Same reason why I enjoy playing The Division series, Mass Effect series, Army of Two, Mega Man Legends Series, Yakuza, series, The Witcher series, Gears of War series and whatever third person games out there that are third person. They are fun to play, and you get to see all your cool gear in action. I'm not a fantastic competitive player, so maybe my opinion wouldn't matter for someone who loves FPS genre, but I find FPS frustrating.
