@Tetsuo Shima what do you use to make or edit your plugin ini files?
are you on windows?

I think @kokokool 's problem could very well be your problem. for at least one of your plugin ini's . that could be why the first one has no title text next to the checkbox. one of your plugin ini's is corrupted or missing a Line Feed or something so it causes a big issue with your plugin list inside wiiflow.

I always recommend using notepad++ as a text editor.

@fledge68 @kokokool This does make sense!
I'm on ubuntu linux and I've never had any issue editing plugins with Gedit.
BUT only recently, I've tried to use the sorting function of Gedit, to have them all nicely organized, so this is what could have caused the issue.
I'll try it now with notepad++ and report back.

you know if you add each of your new plugin ini's back in one at a time. eventually you should come to the one that's the problem.

Notepad++ isn't solving my issues. I've tried recreating from scratch all of the non-working ini's with Notepad++, but there are no changes.

Ok, I'll try this route, even if with a total of 144 plugin .ini files it will be an extremely long process

Maybe try the "by half" approach?

Try only the 1st 72 plugins to see if they all work and if so try the 2nd half. Whichever half the problem occurs in you can then take that group and divide it up by half as well.

If you 1/2 each of the plugin groups until you find it you should be able to track it down a lot quicker then one by one.

Thanks for your suggestion. I will follow this approach

I'm having some issues getting Wiiflow working correctly on my Wii U's vWii. I followed Jack Sorrell's guides to homebrew the vWii and install Wiiflow, but when I loaded up Wiiflow, while it did show the game I'd put on a USB with WBFS Manager to test with, my Wii Remote Plus (the TR model, if that makes a difference) lost sync and I couldn't get it back unless I manually shut off the Wii U to get out of Wiiflow. I found fledge98's updated version, and tried the latest Github release, but when I loaded it from the Homebrew Channel, my Wii Remote lost sync while the splash screen displayed, then I got kicked back into the Homebrew Channel and my remote got sync again. Does anyone have any ideas for 1) how to get the maintained version of Wiiflow to load correctly, and 2) getting my Wii Remote to keep sync?

Hello.

I am new to this thread and am writing here, as I desperately need help.

I am trying to get to run WiiFlow Lite on my vWii since several weeks.

So I did Danimalzpwn3's HowTo, that is being linked here in this thread, but also several other HowTos step by step over the past weeks.
In sum I already spent several days, finding the solution for my problem.

The problem is: Everything is working correctly (which means I can start all the games in WiiFlow), BUT: All the covers just do not show up at all. No matter which system (NES, SNES, etc.)….

I was using the FuzzyRename tool together with a batch file to name the png-files correctly. And I double/triple checked the file names already…. I also put the cover files in the correct „boxcovers“-folder.

When I start WiiFlow Lite, it even seems that covers are found and being loaded (progress bar, loading covers, is being showed on the screen…)…but in the end: No covers.

I cannot see/find what I might have done wrong. Also I already googled for several hours, if someone else might have the same or a similar problem. But… I could not find any „error“ like this.

It would be really, really great, if someone here could help my out.

Also thanks for all the good work you do here!

And sorry for my English, which is not sooooo good.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, that I put all the wiiflow stuff on my SD card.

Have you quad-check to tick in “add extension when you perform fuzzy rename?

@Steve-Austin @fulmonole @NameGoesHere and everyone else using wiiflow on a wii u.

The 5.4.0 and later versions work best if you set force cios to off or no. this makes wiiflow use IOS58.
The other alternative is to use d2x v10 beta 52 with a base of 57 or 58. do not use beta 53 alt.

to set force cios to off or no go to main settings>startup settings.
if wiiflow doesn't boot or when it boots the graphics look weird then you will need to use wiiflow startup configurator.
download it from here - http://www.mediafire.com/file/2h1stwpdvd3r04q/wf_start_config.zip/file
its an app you run on your wii or wii u vwii to set wiiflow startup options.

@fulmonole covers filenames should be exactly the same as the rom filename including the rom extension. so for super mario bros 3.zip the cover filename must be super mario bros 3.zip.png

the cover will go in dev:/wiiflow/boxcovers/{coverFolder}/super mario.zip.png
the {coverFolder} is taken from the plugin ini file. it's the line that says coverdir=

after you put them in the correct folders you will need to run wiiflow and view your covers then go to home menu and select reload cache.

@fledge68: I finally got WiiFlow to load, the Wii Remote re-syncs after the splash screen, and it shows the game I put on the USB to test with. However, when I tell it to play, I just get a black screen, my Wii Remote loses sync again, and I have to actually unplug my Wii U from the power to get out of it.

Also, in both WiiFlow's settings and the Start Configurator you linked, I don't have an option to turn off Force cIOS. I can only set it to Auto, 249, 250, or 251. I do for Force cIOS Mode, but that's set to "no" already.

EDIT: I got the game to load from WiiFlow while using 5.2.0, by setting Force cIOS Mode to "yes," and Force cIOS to slot 250, which I installed with base 57. Slot 251, which uses base 58, didn't work, even though both slots are using d2x-v10beta52-vWii.

Why dont you try the same settings using wiiflow 5.4.6?

I already used the beta 42 and all settings were ok ...
BTW I tried with wf start config but black screens come randomly.
I will try 10x the same game and I received a black screen 5-6 times.
5.2.0, 5.4.6, ...

THX

Finally, I go back to 4.2.1 and I can launch all games without black screens ...

Hello, I installed UNeek to put Wiiware games on Wiiflow. Until then everything works fine but I would like to know if it is possible to change the order of the plugins? The current order is as follows:

Wii> Gamecube> Wiiware> N64

And I would like the order to be like this:

Wii> Wiiware> Gamecube> N64

Or to be able to merge my Wii games with Wiiware, this solution does not bother me.

Thank you!

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
