How to connect to RiiConnect24

RiiConnect24
LOL DON'T USE THIS, USE WII.GUIDE

Hello! Today, I'm gonna show you how to connect to RiiConnect24.
(PICTURES COMING SOON)

DISCLAMER:
DOES NOT CURRENTLY WORK ON vWii OR DOLPHIN. THIS WILL BE COMING SOON.
I DO NOT DEVELOP RIICONNECT24, THIS GUIDE IS HERE TO HELP.

Please check the Stats Page for currently supported services.
Also, join the discord at https://discord.gg/b4Y7jfD for information.

1: A Wii that can read a SD card and connect online, and is homebrewed.
2: A WAD manager. (I personally recommend Wii Mod Lite.)
3: A SD card, obviously.
4: The RiiConect24 Patcher

If you have all this, you should be good.

Load the RiiConnect24 Patcher. If your antivirus detects the program as a false positive, don't worry, disable it and try again.
Follow the instructions and when it's done, copy the WAD folder to your SD card if it's not already copied.
Now insert the SD card into your Wii.

Turn on the Wii and enter the Homebrew Channel.
Open Wii Mod Lite and go to the WAD manager, and choose SD card.
Press + on all three WADs, and then A twice.
The WADs should be installed now, press the HOME button to return to the loader.
If you get a error saying a higher version is installed, press - on the Everybody Votes WAD, press A, and then press A again on the WAD to reinstall.

Open the RiiConnect24 Mail Patcher, and then wait at least 5 seconds.
Press A once it's done.

If it says 'net_get_status: -24 - Couldn’t request the data: -24', check the internet connection on your Wii.
If you can't patch it correctly, email
[email protected].

Go to your Wii Settings, then Internet.
Click your current connection, then change settings.
Go to Auto-Obtain DNS, not IP address.
Click Advanced Settings.
Change the DNS to this:

Primary or First: 164.132.44.106
Secondary or Second: 8.8.8.8

Confirm, then save it.
Press OK to do a connection test.
When it's done, press No. Go back to the settings menu, then press WiiConnect24 twice.
Enable the setting, then go back and press Standby Connection.
Turn this on also, then go back and click Slot Illumination.
Choose either Bright or Dim, or off.
Go back to Internet, then tap User Agreements.
Read this as this has important stuff about RiiConnect24 as a service!

You are now done patching RiiConnect24!
Enjoy!

If you get the following errors, follow the links to fix them.

FORE000006:
Battery needs to be taken out for a bit or Wii needs a format

Discontinued Message or FORE/NEWS errors not above
You'll need to delete some files.

Short and simple, yes.

A few things to change, though.

Move the "Errors" section to the bottom of the guide

Provide a link to the WML GitHub page

Also, fix the various grammatical errors, but that's just me.

- Ramen Noodles

Thanks, I fixed a couple of things you said.
I'm also Canadian, so some spelling might be different.
Can you point out what grammar errors?

Ah, okay.

A SD card should be An SD card

a error
should be an error

Everybody Votes WAD
should be Everybody Votes Channel WAD

The WADs should be installed now, press the HOME button to return to the loader.

These are really more nitpick-y than they are important corrections, but...

While I was creating this patcher, the main idea about it was to make patching as easy as possible because some people are stupid enough not to understand how to install homebrew apps to the apps folder on the SD Card so this patcher does it automatically ;)

Automatically of course if you tell it to use the SD Card :)

Also like sks said, the guide at https://wii.guide/riiconnect24 is always updated and is translated to few languages.

Nintendo servers for the Wii are down.
That is why RiiConnect was created.
You're sorely mistaken. WC24 and WFC are defunct, yes. The update servers never went offline. They are separate. Again, go to the system settings and update the system.

I hate ordering stuff online if I can go buy it somewhere close to me, and everywhere anymore will give you a discount only if you order it online, bs. Should be a discount if I go pick it up, not order online.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I love it for most things most stores you just shows the receipt online and they scan it

Makes it easy for incompetent restaurant staff that don't know how to hear an order
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Mostly for big purchases, I want it in my hands before I pay. Like a tv, I trust picking it up myself, before I'd trust it being sent thru mail/delivery. (Broken screen, etc) But yea if I can order online, then pickup at store is ok, but not all places offer that.

Thing is, if you break it driving back to your house, it's your fault. But if the delivery driver damages it, it's not your fault.
