They all help define that NES sound, showing what the hardware was capable of (despite the technical limitations). Outside the NES, Panzer Dragoon Saga has some really serene tracks that are worth checking out. I do appreciate Grandia II's and Eternal Sonata's OST's, especially the battle themes. You can never go wrong with any of Nobuo Uematsu's work throughout the Final Fantasy series (1 through 12). The Super Nintendo is loaded with great works from Squaresoft alone, from Secret of Mana to Super Mario RPG to Chrono Trigger. Xenogears is another unique soundtrack that deserves a mention.

To do right by my avatar's Custom Title, I'll throw in the Bubble Bobble theme. Just like browsing Wendy Menus before deciding what to order, I enjoy revisiting old favorites, but I bet the NES version's rendition sounds like nails on a chalkboard to the uninitiated.

One of my favorites has to be Stickerbush Symphony from Donkey Kong Country 2. It's one of those tracks that never gets old and perfectly fits the atmosphere of the game. I also really enjoy You Can Do Anything from Sonic CD. It's incredibly catchy and has such a fun, upbeat vibe.

Both of those are absolute classics! David Wise truly created magic with the DKC2 soundtrack. If I had to pick another timeless track from that era, it would definitely be Aquatic Ambience from the first Donkey Kong Country. Still gives me chills every time I listen to it.

Hahaha, I have a soft spot for Toot Toot Sonic Warrior. (Not its official name, I know.) It's very nostalgic for me because it's very characteristic of 90's Japan. It's memorable, high energy (Especially Keiko Utoku's aggressive performance), and strangely hypnotic.

The actual animation- the opening video for Sonic CD- is well-made and an excellent representation of classic Sonic. Back then the "Mobius/Not Mobius" debate was the biggest controversy in Sonic continuity. It's incredibly quaint, now.
