yeah it still didn't work, but I put the file in /luma/payloads and renamed it to CTGP7.firm

do I need to set it as the default payload?
Are you launching CTGP7.firm via Luma3DS chainloader holding (START) when turning on the 3DS?

It does not need to be the main sdmc:/boot.firm , but you do have to launch it first whenever you boot to HOME Menu → CTGP7 game session.

Yes, I am using the Luma3DS chainloader
:(

Does your HOME Menu installed copy of Mario Kart 7 launches and plays fine?

Check if your SD card is fake, faulty, or dying.
  1. Copy everything off the SD card to a computer.
  2. Quadruple reformat.
  3. Full Write + Verify the empty card in H2testw (because I know you use Linux, you'll need to compile and run instead F3). Do not skip.
  4. If the result came back clean, delete the *.h2w test files and copy everything back to the SD card.
    • If a hardware error was reported, retire that SD card and go back to step 1 with the replacement card.

While I love this patch, my favorite use is just to put Waluigi and R.O.B. back in the game, as they should never have been omitted in the first place. I think this is an incredible undertaking. I’d really love a “lite” version if there’s ever a possibility, where the only change is characters. I know I can ignore the new tracks and modes etc. but it’d be incredible if the patcher let us select what functions we wanted to install.

OK; here's the situation now:
The launcher works, it supernags me to get LumaNanquitas. Even though I was using the CTGP7.firm. It lets me try to boot CTGP-7, but then my 3DS crashes.

RN i can't try my 3DS because I left it on top of the router so that CTGP-7 would update.

You, uh, kinda need the Luma plugin loader to use CTGP-7. This isn't simply a "nag", the mod quite literally cannot run without it. Let the launcher replace your boot.firm with it and then play the mod, or don't run the mod at all.

this hasn't started happening until now, but CTGP-7 seems to hate connecting to the internet.
i uninstalled the CTGP firm a while ago because i wanted to play the MM3D restoration patch
now i when i want to reinstall it, it keeps saying it failed to download
it also doesn't check for updates

Make sure you can access github.com from the 3ds built-in browser. Also make sure you didn't change dns or proxy settings to use an exploit.

Hi, I'm loving the mod so far and i have some questions. :)

1. I have some slowdowns especially when event start is this know issue?
2. I did try to run the game with 60fps cheat but it freezes the game, is there a workaround?
3. Is the content of the mod final? :)

1. What is an "event start"?
2. Cheats are blocked, and such code wouldn't help anyways.
3. Nope

There is a noticeable slowdown on some tracks (tested with 2 different N3DSXL's) when the start countdown appeared and in some other instances but mostly when it's counting 3,2,1...

Ah yes, there is lag in some tracks but it shouldn't be that noticeable. Make sure you are using the latest version, and keep in mind that using stuff like the speedometer can cause lag.
