Hacking Is it worth staying on 5.05?

no reason to stay on 5.05 as the scene is non-existent. sell it or update it.

In terms of new games or homebrew then it's kinda slowed down, but that is not really important to me.

There is no single answer, because everyone is different to what they want from a ps4. I'm much more tempted to sell my switch, even though it can run the latest games.

You do whatever you want and when they release the higher with jailbreak.. Dont crying back to us because you are not going to find your PS4 with jailbreak cheaper. The cost will be very high for jailbreak PS4. That's why I am keeping mine as long as I can. I am not playing video games all the time. I have Nintendo Switch. I played from time to time when I have time. No biggie deal. Its your decision and your PS4. You do whatever you want. Up to you. Not ours.

I did say in one of my comments that i am keeping the fw. So far i am just going to be patient for the fw update, and just play on my pc and switch. thanks for the response

I have two PS4's, one normal and one on 5.05 which is gathering dust. By the time anything actually starts again in that scene the PS5 will likely be out and any interest I would have had in PS4 would have gone anyway (especially because of backwards compatability, PS Now etc). I think I'll just sell mine. £200 anyone? :-)

They are having the exploitable ready but they are not release it until they decide to release it. Reason ? No idea. That is just what you assume. So I am waiting as long as as possible. That's fine.

Nobody can calculate the chance. It's possible that someone would release a hack for 7 or 8 that uses emunand and requires sysnand to be on less than 5.05.

All anyone can say is that 5.05 has an exploit now.

Not yet, but you can boot linux from usb so I don't see why you couldn't boot another copy of orbis (ps4 os) from usb.

What hope? I didn't say it would come before end of life.

PS3 passed it's end of life in march 2019 and there was still a new firmware in september 2019, so there may be a very long wait for ps4 eol and something like emunand might still be important.

Dude..the ps4 scene is a joke ..nobody will move a finger to deliver a emunand..dont count on that...its easy er to find a save exploit..on my percept.

I was suggesting things that might be possible in the future & how impossible it is to predict whether they would happen.
