I'm writing this guide because when searching how to get 60FPS Patches working on my PS4 the past week, I found that the information seems to be scattered all over the web, with people repeatedly having the same issues. I managed to get them working on my PS4 and wanted to share my findings while it was fresh in my memory.
To start you'll of course need a PS4 running an exploitable firmware version. v9.00 should work but mine is still on v6.72.
Next you'll need to make sure that your exploit host has GoldHEN ver 2.2.5b7 or later as that version of GoldHEN allowed the use of game runtime patches. I'm using ver 2.4b13 and if you need a good host check out https://www.wrozen.com/ . My PS4 is kept offline only so his ESP8266 build of PsPhive 1.5.3 has been great for me!
Next you'll want to download install the GoldHEN Cheats manager from illusion0001: https://github.com/GoldHEN/GoldHEN_Cheat_Manager/releases/tag/v1.1.4 . This pkg file contains both the tool used to enable the 60fps patches, as well as the game specific patches / cheats themselves.
In order for the tool's patch feature to work, you'll need to download the GoldPlugins zip file here: https://github.com/GoldHEN/GoldHEN_Plugins_Repository/releases/tag/1.188
After installing the cheats manager pkg, and downloading the zip, FTP into your PS4 and copy the "game_patch.prx" file from the zip linked above, into the data/GoldHEN/plugins/ directory on the PS4. If the "plugins" folder doesn't exist go ahead and create it first.
Now, boot the cheats manager on your PS4, navigate to the "patches" section, and enable / disable the patches you want for your games. Pro-Tip: press triangle to filter only the games you have installed.
Note: If you don't see a game on your PS4 identified as being installed from within the cheats manager, check the list on illusion0001's site : https://illusion0001.com/patch/#patches . If you click into the patch file contents towards the bottom of the page, you'll see each patch specifies a title Id such as <ID>CUSA13795</ID>, and a version such as AppVer="01.21". Both the Title Id & the Version of the installed game NEED to match that of the patch contents from illusion0001's site or the mod will not work.
Last, in the data/GoldHEN directory you may or may not see a plugins.ini file. This file is critical for getting the patches to work and should be generated automatically. While FTP'd in your PS4, check for this file. If for some reason it doesn't exist, create a plugins.ini file on your computer using a text editor and paste the contents into the file from this page: https://github.com/GoldHEN/GoldHEN_Plugins_Repository#quick-start . This will allow the game_patch.prx plugin to load and enable runtime game patching.
Now go ahead and boot the game. If all went well you should see a message similar to the below during boot, letting you know that the game has been patched.
Hope this helps someone.
