I do go online. I have one of the new better battery model switch that cant be modded which is the main console that I use daily, then I have one that is running SXOS. I use the one that can be modded with stock firmware most of the time. All of the games that are on both systems are games that I have purchased from the Nintendo store. When I want to use a cheat I will put the exploitable switch in airplane mode and then reboot into SXOS then run whatever cheats I want to max out a character in a game the save the game. Then reboot into stock firmware and let the Nintendo cloud save make a backup for me. The boot into my none exploitable switch to download the modded save and use it.

I know it is cumbersome and mostly a waste of time but it works and has been working for some time and as of yet haven't got a ban on it "though I am under no illusion that a ban is likely at some point".

Doing this requires both consoles to be on the latest firmware for connection to Nintendo servers.

Sorry buddy, I meant to send my message to the OP. Been a crazy day lol

Nice. Good little method you have there.

So basically you work really hard to implement cheats and ruin the game experience instead of playing the game the way it should be.
And on the top of that you purchased every game and have 2 consoles to do your method just for cheats?

Yup pretty much, though I don't think it ruins the experience, more like enhances it.

I have about 40 purchased games for Switch plus 500+ in my Steam library not to mention other consoles. If I didn't use ways to "enhance" the game I would never have time to finish half of them in my lifetime.

But to turn the question around, doesn't using "backups" ruin the experience for you?

You don't need to play every game available, you only play the games that you enjoy, don't force yourself to play a game just for the sake of finishing the game and go for the next, playing a game should be for fun, challenge and experience, you may win or lose but keep trying then you will have a good feeling that you achieved something.
Cheats like infinit lives or infinit money really ruin the experience, I used cheats before in the middle of some games because I was too lazy to try harder and it really ruined the experience, I felt empty and the game have no meaning after that.
I have a wife and 2 daughter and limited time to play, 50 hours games can take me a month to finish yes but it's a good experience, unlike some people who finish it in 3 days then they say the game is not that good and go for the next because they didn't take their time to enjoy the game, after few weeks they even dont remember anything about it because they rushed til the end.

And no, backup doesn't ruin the experience, it just save me money, I still appreciate the game if it was good, and if it's not, I will simply stop playing and check other game that I can enjoy.

I have been playing games since Pong. I think I have a pretty good grasp as to how I enjoy playing them.

Sooo, basically you’re trying to force your preferred way of playing games onto other people. Ok. I personally don’t care for cheats, but some people may prefer playing with them, it really shouldn’t be and isn’t your problem (unless someone is doing it in an online title, that’s a shitty thing to do)

Sigh, this site has gone down hill a lot.... I ask a simple question, is there much reason to stick with sx os, and the thread, yet again turns into people critcising each other.

I use SX OS since day 1 for playing online with my backups (and correct certificate injected in the xci)
I never installed any NSP in SYSNAND.

I can't install any NSP because I don't want to be banned
So I won't go to atmosphere if there is no way to play with your own certificate
does injecting different cert in the xci trigger ban?
like lets say injecting spaltoon 2 cert to pokemon lets go eevee xci rom and go online with it
thanks in advance

the only reason to stick with SX-OS is sort of like console vs PC

with SX-OS, you basically have an endusers that have the same set of programs and its functionality like a nice walled garden( i say nice becasue usb xci loading) and it sort of remains the same for everyone.

with Atmos, youre set up for everything new, sometimes untested(cartridge loading) , ever evolving, and have to stick with the scene and its nerver ending instructions on how to hekake and keep on updating different aspects of its engine. (some love this)

I have the SX os , so does all my friends and co workers and everyone I know on most of my forums that I have introduced them to it.

Theyre all N0obs. THey dont know much and its easier to handle sx os then go on the forums to look for instructions and join a github
right now the forum is filled with people with "broken" CFW

It just takes a little more to get CFW running (again you may like this as much as I like android over apple)
but for simplicity sake and xci loading I think SX-os has its place. And I still love it and so does my co workers, and friends, and fmaily, and everyone I introduced it to

with Atmos, they'd have to be gbatemp members to get it wokring exactly as they want it.

just my .02

No
As long as you inject a card2 game cert into a card2 XCI and a card1 cert into a card1 xci it’s fine

i have never been banned yet on this switch and I’m a playing online with xci every days

i have no nsp installed (not even an update or a dlc)
I have only xci with injected cert on my SD card

okey so the only thing i should consider is card 1 cert to any xci rom that is same type "card 1" and a card 2 cert for a xci rom that is card 2 as well right?

Nope, you are using an online forum so you are actually talking to everyone here.
Literally just let everyone play the way they want and stop being offended by other people doing things in their way.

But back to the topic, is there a way to do the ram editing way of cheating in atmosphere? I use that way more often than just straight up cheats.

What I really like from atmosphere is that if the console crashes volume button gets me back to cfw, no need to remove the joycon and load a payload from computer/dongle.

The only thing SXOS has over Atmosphere at this point is USB loading and XCI mounting. Atmosphere has custom modules that SXOS isn't compatible with. That's really all that comes to mind.
