From what I’ve gathered from reading loads of stuff, the 2gb partition is in a format which windows can’t read. So to transfer your ROMs, you either need to download them from somewhere like google drive, transfer the files via usb on the doc or use ftp.
Which folder should i transfer them to? Maybe i should make a new folder in the retroarch folder?

I’m not sure. I’ve not actually had chance to try it myself. Maybe just a ROMs folder on the root of the sd card.

I created my EmuMMC with Hekate, is it possible to use the same one with fusee? Any thing i should do beforehand or i can just boot fusee without changing any .ini files?

Hello, I have the following situation... Apparently, after upgrading to Atmosphere 0.9.x (0.9.4 in my last attempt) I have found trouble installing NSPs via USB (Nut) Lithium: it won't open and shows the message "The software was closed because an error occurred". I am on FW 7.0.1 and have the most recent sig/es/kip patches on my SD card (these: https://gbatemp.net/threads/i-heard-that-you-guys-need-some-sweet-patches-for-atmosphere.521164/ ). Any ideas about this? Am I missing something? Should I try downgrading Atmosphere to a previous version?

Something to note is that these NSPs are relatively recent (latest Smash Ultimate Update+DLCs on SD and Crash Team Racing + Update on system memory). Someone told me that the solution may be in upgrading firmware to 8.1.0 , but is it really necessary? I really don't want to mess with firmware unless it's the last option.

I discarded SD card problems because one of the games is launched from system memory and I haven't had any other problems with SD stuff, and I don't use or have installed any cheat engine, so what I say on https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-software-was-closed-because-an-error-occurred.533703/ is discarded too. I checked for corrupted data as well, and found none, and I deleted CTR's save data, and that was discarded as well. Reinstalled plenty of times with stuff from different sources, so don't think these are broken NSPs.

Thank you for your attention.

If I update sysnand to 9.0 can I keep everything in emunand as it is? I won’t update it I’ll keep it in 8.1 for a while until everything is supported but I want to access online on sysnand so I just want to make sure that won’t mess up anything on emunand and that I’ll still be able to boot android. Thanks for the info!

what would be the disadvantages in a potential purchase of a used Unpatched Switch (low serial# verified only) that has already been updated to 9.0?

so the fuses would be burned to 9.0 so won't be able to boot below 9.0 via emuNAND or sysNAND(obviously)

as of now we seem to have support but there are unknowns about being hardstuck on 9.0?

If you are using retroarch, you can put the roms anywhere. When you are loading the rom in retroarch, you can browse to where you put the roms and load whicher you want.
my retroarch is very buggy. I cant even navigate it using directional keys or analog. I downloaded it off the appshop. Is that no recommended?

You are done.Do not move the key file. You can use Goldleaf anymore.
Yeah, it still won't install any NSP files. Says firmware mismatch. Apparently it's a bug with the new Goldleaf and fw 9.0. Just gotta wait for an update. Thanks for the response!

I'm not sure if the appshop version is updated. I just got it directly from retroarch nightlies. http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/nintendo/switch/libnx/ Also, make sure you are accessing the homebrew launcher from a game, and not the gallery.

What I meant Hekate wouldn't give you a clean NAND, as Hekate doesn't touch Horizon OS, OFW and Sysnand (CFW) are on the same NAND, you have to keep that clean if you want to play online.
Yes, I know that I need to keep it clean. Have you tried to launch OFW from emunand?

@Spinsz thanks for the link but what am i looking at? I downloaded the first retroarch link there and put it on the root of my sd card. Should I install it through goldleaf? Does it come with all the bios and cores that allow me to play playstation games or do i have to add that? Thanks!

I just download the most recent one. All the way at the bottom. Extract it to the the root of your SD card, overwrite any files it says and run retroarch from the homebrew launcher. I didn't really set anything up and ps1 works fine for me. I just select the ps1 emulator, then where it says select rom, I look for the ps1 game and just play it. Sorry if I haven't really helped you. This is just what I did...

  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
