I’m so new to this but if I were to buy the x pro i would be able to play back ups without having to mod a joycon right? Also how hard is it to mod myself? I keep seeing it’s possible to burn fuses get banned ect.. I’d rather pay a lil money and avoid that.. thanks for the help

Which homebrew app can install XCIs like NSPs?
ZeroTwoXCI, dOPUS, n1dus, and DZ.

You don't need to mod the Joy-Con at all even without the SX Pro. All you need to do is short pin 10 on your right Joy-Con rail which you can do with a jig from eBay or a paperclip around your house. A full list of community suggestions can be found here. If you want to mod the Joy-Con yourself, it is not that difficult to do so long as you have the proper screwdrivers. There are also several tutorials available here on the site. Lastly, updating without burning fuses and avoiding getting banned are doable without spending a cent. There are homebrew applications such as ChoiDujourNX that can update your firmware without burning fuses and if setup an emuMMC partition, you can theoretically load all CFW & homebrew in one partition along with legitimate online play in the other partition. Atmosphere is currently the only free CFW to support emuMMC. In short, you do not need to pay anything to TX to hack your Switch or accomplish any of your other goals.

@Draxzelex But you can set nogc in the hekate ini file and also in atmosphere. Do you need both enabled? Also when nogc is enabled and you insert a game cart it simply won’t read the game?
You do not set it in Atmosphere, you set it in Fusee. And you can only boot Atmosphere via Fusee or Hekate, not both simultaneously. And yes, while nogc is enabled, your system will not be able to read any cartridges.

Hello guys. A new noob here :) I have got my new switchi and its serial is XAW1000708 (so hackable) and its firmware is 4.1.0. So my friend said it is low (in a good way), and he said I can use emunand for playing online with original games (like pokeon).

So I was looking at "switch homebrew guide" site, but I really dont know which methods should I choose. Is there any one uses warmboots (I gues it uses only softwares to hack, so not permanent)? Should I use Emunand? Do I have to use a jig?

I hope I could explain myself, and you can guide me, and direct me any guides.

An unpatched console on firmware 4.1 has access to both the warmboot exploit, Deja Vu, as well as the coldboot exploit, Fusee Gelee. Deja Vu requires a network connection such as Wi-Fi while Fusee Gelee needs a jig to boot into RCM and USB cable/dongle to send payloads. Personally, Fusee Gelee is much better than Deja Vu because not only does it work on all firmware versions (assuming the console is not patched) but is much faster to load than Deja Vu. And the guide you are following is sufficient at explaining all of this to you.

So if I go with fuse glee and then use Atmosphere CFW can I create an Emunand for playing safe online game? Or any other way to play online games?
The gule I was following does not say anything about creating an emunand (I guess). It just says atmoshere supporst emunand.

How people use emuMMC is they set one partition for loading CFW & homebrew, usually emuMMC, then play online in the other partition, usually sysMMC.

Unfortunately that guide does not have an emuMMC section yet but if you want a similar guide with an emuMMC guide, you can try this.

Hekate now prevents the cartridge slot from automatically updating by only applying nogc if you have a fuse count of 4 or less. And the benefits to updating your cartridge slot only include being able to play retail cartridges on firmware versions of 4.0 or higher. Updating it is currently an irreversible process and may be the key to an untethered coldboot exploit on firmware versions below 4.0. Unless you primarily buy games physical, there is not much reason to update your cartridge slot.

thank you hugely for all of the support you have given. but when you say about the 4 fuses, i am not entirely following on that. is 4 a reference to the number of fuses NOT burned? if so, then how can i use hekate without enabling nogc?

and... can you comment on actual benefit to using firmware version 3.0.1/3.0.0 as opposed to a higher version? at this juncture in the scene, 3.0.1/3.0.0 don't seem very useful anymore. only use i can think of is keeping SysNAND on the lower firmware for things like warmboot and possibly unteathered coldboot in the future. for me, these things are a non-issue, so i would be interested to hear any other actual uses of 3.0.1/3.0.0. thank you!

again, thanks a ton! ^_^

P.S. if there is any way i can show my gratitude aside from just hitting the Like button, please let me know! you have been a great help :)

In SX OS's menu, some homebrew apps like Edizon and Kosmos Toolbox don't display their icons properly, instead they show blue icons. Is there any fix for this issue?

As I already said, it seems like you missed some step/s in the guide. Just follow it again and you will be fine.

Is there a payload sender for Mac's?
Found 3 ways:

So that guide user caffeine instead of fuse glee. But I guess caffeine only works with 4.1.0 firmware. So if i stick with caffeine i won't be able to update my sysNand and go play latest games with online feature, right?

What's the difference between fusee-primary.bin and fusee-secondary.bin? I read somewhere that you can boot with fusee-primary as well as with hekate. When I always boot with hekate do I need the fusee-primary.bin on my sd card? @Draxzelex

So is there anyway to use my sysNand latest firmware and make an emunand at same time?

At switch homebrew guide site it says Atmosphere can create emunand. If I use "fuse glee" method with Atmosphere, can I use my both sysnand and emunand latest firmware, so then play online game with sysnand and others with emunand?

Following this guide:
https://nh-server.github.io/switch-guide/user_guide/emummc/partitioning_sd/
you will make an emuMMC and can update your sysMMC to latest firmware. You will have to use the fusee-gelee exploit.
You can use the sysMMC on latest firmware for legitimate online play and the emuMMC for homebrew.

Thanks for guiding me. I will use that guide.

Now I have another problem. I have 200gb microSDXC card. But my switch is not detecting it. I formatted it to Fat32 with minitool but still not working. Is there anyway to solve this problem or should I go back and return my new switch.

If other micro SD cards are also not working, it seems like the SD card slot is not working. You should return your switch then
