Hi, I'm new and learning about switch hb. I plan to install Kosmos. I wish to avoid burning fuses. Also I wish to avoid autoRCM. From what I read, I have to use a jig everytime the console is turned off, and on.
So,
-Can I leave a jig on 24/7? is there any downside to that?
-Would that affect how I have to use the cfw/homebrew, if I leave the console in sleep mode?
-Do I have to have a jig on whenever I update?
-what happens if my electricity goes off when the switch is on sleep mode?(will it reboot when electricity is restored?, in this case, should a jig be on the switch to prevent any fuse to burn when the power comes back? )

Ok, so SXOS vs Atmosphere...

I’ve been running SXOS since it released, but I’m a bit out of touch with everything now. Is Atmosphere superior? Any pros/cons? Can I move over to Atmosphere from SXOS? Will I still need the dongle and jig with Atmosphere?

Well, I was scared to "brick" a console, power drains and mostly wondering about my house electricity being disconnected scenario. And I thought it was unnecessary if I had a perma-jig. But based on
Draxzelex thread/faq, most of my concerns were addressed; so almost nothing now, I guess?

Well it kind of bricks the console because it breaks Nintendo’s bootloader, so you always enter rcm.

Can i link my nintendo account if use stealth mode, ftp server disabled? I never log in ofw.

Stealth mode blocks all communication with Nintendo if I remember correctly.

If you don’t wanna get banned don’t use sx os.

Can you factory reset emunand without having the sdcard or sysnand messed with? It seems silly... But I'm afraid of losing everything and can't seem to find it mentioned.

I would feel a lot more comfortable without my Nintendo ID linked to my emunand

Well you’re fucked if you have a patched unit and on 8.0.1. You’re gonna be waiting a few years possibly. And downgrading is impossible on a patched unit. Idk why you updated.

Are all switch games available to download or do only selected games to play? To find the games, you will have to look yourself. And unless I'm mistaken, any game should be available as long as they're released.

Atmosphere is the best in my opinion. To block updates use 90DNS.

Although it won't affect your SD card, having a linked Nintendo account to your EmuNAND carries the same amount of risk as not having a linked Nintendo account.

I appreciate the response and understand that.

I know nothing is a guarantee but I'd like to take every precaution possible (DNS, Stealth mode, Applying incognito) before I'm brave enough to use retro achievements in retroarch and removing my ID is just another step. It would suck of they were able to see that much and ban my account.

I run the banning thread and I do not have a single verified account a banned account. On the opposite side, if you are this paranoid about a ban, you probably shouldn't be hacking your console in the first place.

I'm only paranoid about going online, which I'll gladly stay off of as long as I need to but thank you for that clarification!

I was transferring an NSP with goldleaf (usb) and it disconnected during the transfer. It showed the nsp as an unidentified program on my home screen which I managed to remove by going into the software settings and remove the data. However now when I try to re-transfer it with tinfoil or goldleaf I get an error msg. I'm thinking there may be remnants of that initial transfer on my sd card. Can I somehow purge my sd card of its files or any ideas how to resolve this?
