Because literally NONE OF THIS WAS NECESSARY.
Or this.
Or this.
I'd like to ask kindly that you discuss this elsewhere.
Damn, this thread is going nowhere really quickly, and is overlooking the simple fact that people are human and things take time. Leave it be until something tangible comes up again, please?
*sighs*
Then why am I not getting any help in the Linux 4 Tegra (or whatever the Nvidia program is called) thread in regards to why there's no cores for reicast on RA? To be honest, if Ubuntu gives me the ultimate convenience on-the-go and couch homebrew experience that money can currently buy, I wouldn't be here, but goddamn does no one want to be helpful around here. I understand why because I work a second shift job and am posting late at night when people (on my side of the world) are in bed or working late at night.
There's no developments going on right now, and while I appreciate all of the hard work that goes into everything homebrew for the Switch, I will go with the best option available to me. It's why I went with THERA 3.0 and ORA before it for my ODroid XU4 as opposed to that more convenient way to set up RetroPie on an ODroid XU4 (again, the name eludes me, nothing against the work they've done, hell, they may have gone and improved it since I last tried it); I just don't care who gets to the top first, you know?
If Horizon is going to be top dog in everything except for N64 in my experience, that's a win as I don't have much nostalgia for the N64. Bring the torches and pitchforks for the bonfire of marshmallows.
If lakka eventually becomes top dog, it will be worth the wait. If GC can be run on the Switch, great. It'd blow my mind if Wii was playable as well and preferably with the Switch Joy-Cons motion controls which doesn't require a fucking bar with an overly-long and awfully fragile cable to be mounted above on top of a TV (you're fucked if it's some of the flatscreens I've seen and you have a soundbar). Otherwise, waiting for dock, wireless controller, sleep mode support, and PS1 emulation on the level of RA on Horizon (this is a weird one, as N64 DEFINITELY runs better on lakka than RetroArch on Horizon in my experience) before using this on the regular (more efficient battery usage would be nice, but that could just be me).
Ubuntu, sounds like it's more complete feature-wise. Just have to git gud with Ubuntu now that I've some potential utility for it in my hands atm. (might try Proton later on the road) Again, why can't I download any cores if they don't come with the RetroArch download via the Terminal command on their website? All of the cores were there the other night when I first set it up wrong because I deleted too much and put the files in the wrong place with the first installation? (thought the L4T update folder was to replace some other files already on the Ubuntu installation, a dumbass mistake, but a mistake nonetheless) Does it have something to do with the Final Burn Alpha nonsense that went down and with the introduction of Final Burn Neo? (when the FBA core I already have on every version of RA I currently have installed on all of my devices plays everything I expect it to anyways)
Also, a method for MUGEN to be on the Switch is something to get excited about, don't know about you. OpenBOR was ported to the Switch via Horizon, why not its tournament fighter equivalent?
