The next Nintendo mobile game, Mario Kart Tour, was scheduled to be racing to smartphones before the end of the fiscal year, but according to a new earnings report, that’s no longer the case. Nintendo has confirmed that Mario Kart Tour has been delayed by a few months to “Summer 2019”, as the game requires more development time to meet standards. This will allow for a more “quality application”, and for there to be more post launch content. While the game was announced nearly a year ago, no major details have been given in regards to gameplay. Meanwhile, Nintendo’s other mobile games, Dragalia Lost and Fire Emblem Heroes have been exceeding company expectations.

In the smart-device business, Mario Kart Tour was scheduled to be released this fiscal year, but in order to improve quality of the application and expand the content offerings after launch, the release date has been moved to summer 2019. As we endeavor to develop future planned applications, we will also focus on continued service operations for applications that have already been released so that consumers can enjoy playing them for a long time.

Could be fun, mario kart is perfect for short game sessions and controls are simple enough to be ported on a touch screen.

got to love claims "quality game" sorry nintendo but youve been recycling mario kart since 1985, im pretty sure you'd be a dab hand any recycling it by now and be able to shit it out like liquid.

more like nintendo have lost what it means to make games and todays hardware is too much for them to work with.

first metroid being handed over to a third party, here is another nintendo first party being delayed.

Never played this 1985's Mario Kart. Is it good? Do I play it on NES or Gameboy?

hopefully they pull a Mario Run, basic free trial with in-app purchase to unlock full game no micros

Yup they could do all that and then f*ck up a really good philosophy by *requiring online to play*. Seriously, Nintendo. I'd have paid for Super Mario Run for sure. But considering the only place I'm ever likely to play it is on a plane.....
