Update your firmware with the homebrew application ChoiDujourNX.

How could u update with choidujourNX all the contents of choidujourNX are just folders?
ChoiDujourNX is a homebrew app aka a .NRO file. You would place it where all other Switch homebrew applications which is the /Switch folder.

If you are referring to the firmware files, those have to be obtained elsewhere because they are considered copyrighted content and cannot be provided on this forum, even through PM. However the OP of the ChoiDujourNX thread offers several hints on where to obtain such files.

so if we already have ReiNX installed on 6.0.0 are we able to upgrade to 6.2.0 using ChoiDujourNX and then use ReiNX toolkit to update it to 2.0 or should i update ReiNX first before updating firmware? little confused on what steps to take to update both firmware and ReINX?

It is stricly against the forum rules to link copyrighted content here. Refer to the first post of the ChoiDujourNX thread for hints on where to obtain the firmware files.

The toolkit won't give you the build with 6.2 support. You will have to go to the ReiSwitched Discord Server for a link to a build that has 6.2 support.

is there a guide on how to update ReiNX from the .zip is it a matter of just replacing the .bin files and folders already on the SD card? i assume there is more to it then that

i have a R4S dongle, first time i installed ReiNX was on a clean install of 6.0.0, and haven't been online with it since and i still have the backup NAND, would i be better off restoring the NAND updating officially then doing a fresh install of ReiNX 2.0? would that require reinstalling all my .nsp files again that are already installed on sd card? i dont actually have anything saved to system memory.

It’s easier than you think. Completely replace the ReiNX folder on your SD and replace the bin on your SD. Copy the titles folder from your old ReiNX folder and put it in the new one. Then reflash your dongle to inject the new bin.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Not sure if this is related, but since updating to 6.2 and the 6.2 compatible ReiNX, I need to inject the payload twice now to get into the system. First time I was afraid I bricked it, but then I did it again and I was in. Shutdown the unit a few times now and now I have to do it twice every time.

I'm using TegraRCMSmash

FWIW I’m using the new 6.2 ReiNX build on a Switch that I haven’t updated yet, still on 6.1, and I have the same problem. So it seems the problem isn’t 6.2, but something with the new ReiNX build.

yeah was alot easier then i thought i just override the reinx.bin and reinx folder on sd card, plugged dongle in and didn't have to do anything different to normal startup from power off. updated to 6.2 using ChoiDujourNX and rebooted and everything looks fine system settings show on 6.2 using reiNX, is there anywhere to view if it is running latest reinx i assume it is or it wouldnt be working on 6.2 firmware.

haven't had any problems with having to inject twice or anything of that nature. i assume thats because i am using dongle and not tegrarcm

Having an odd problem. Hadn't played around with my switch for a bit, just put the latest version of ReiNX available from github, (17.1.1) and when I boot up my switch, I get the ReiNX bootscreen, but then clicking albums just brings up my albums folder full of screenshots. I've tried using the shoulder buttons while opening albums too and get the same results?

EDIT: Using RajNX lets me hold down R and start albums to get to hbmenu.nro to start like it should.

Assuming you're on 6.2, you need to go to discord and download the latest version, as github doesn't have the latest files for some reason.

I wonder if that was the point of game streaming
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    But it's a dead end
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

Did you feed the hamster in your internet router? It prob died and is running slow now.

@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
